alright we are on the car full time now and its getting ready for paint so I am going to post up some build shots to where we are so you can all get caught up.
This car was a 1966 Ford Mustang GT matching numbers, yes that is right a matching number car that we are going to cut up and rework to make it look like it should have when Ford built it.
This car came to us with paint done ready to go back together that is all it needed. We were going to just do a nice restore on the car and we found rust so you know what that means complete car needs to come apart and start over.
If we are going to start over why not just go all out well that is what we are going to do. Every panel on this car is rebuilt or reworked in some fashion. I will post as many pictures as I can to get you all caught up and as some of you may have seen we brought this car out to SEMA in raw metal.
This car was in our booth at SEMA last year in the raw stages to show the kind of work our shop does and to show everyone in this industry that we are not afraid to let people see whats under the paint. Lots of people say we cant get things done and we only bring cars to SEMA that are half done but we bring cars to the shows in stages so you can see all the metal work and how they were built. Not to mention we had 9 cars at SEMA last year on display all over the place.
Check out the build pics and let me knwo what you think and if you have questions ask.

heres what we found under the paint, nice work for a car that had a $10,000 paint job on it.

So we called up Year-one and got some replacement panels to fix the car right left and right side were bad. We cut off both quarters to do it right, as you can see by the first patch job they hacked the car up so much that it was too far gone to fix right.

after all the metal work on the car was correct and fit perfect we sanded the complete car down to it ready to go to SEMA 07 to show the kind of work we do. We figured everyone can take cars to SEMA but we like to take a few in the metal stages so everyone can see how we build them.
The blazer, 67 Chevy truck, 69 Camaor and this Mustang have all gone to SEMA in the raw stages. Some people on this site say its becasue we do half ass cars and cant get anything done well I say we do it to show the work we do and to show people that we do it right. We have nothing to hide

I will post some more metal shots later today if I have time, the car is in paint right now and we should see some color here in the next week or so. After SEMA we had a ton of work to do on the car to get it ready for paint and I will post some update shots of that as well.
Wow is all I have to say! :wow:

I have to say that the work on the Mustang is impressive.
However, with all that has gone on in the past week and all the negative attention you have garnered for what ever reason, comments like this:
Some people on this site say its becasue we do half ass cars and cant get anything done well I say we do it to show the work we do and to show people that we do it right. We have nothing to hide
are killing you man. It's a Perception vs. Reality thing.
I would seriously pick a different hill to die on. Live another day and let your work speak for itself.

I only stated what is being sent to me, I keep getting very nice PMs from a few members here telling me how I suck and how my work is junk. I can take it and am just as tired of it as you guys are. I did not even start the post that caused all of this and only stated a few facts and was attacked. I let it go and appologied for everything. I appreciate your comments and will let the pictures speak for themselves on this build.

Impressive metal work...most of us can only dream of being able to accompish what you do. Most of us are just hobbyist and you raise the bar.
Personally I am amazed at what I have been willing to attempt on my car just because I see someone like your shop making it happen first.:hail:
Ignore any of those negative comments/PMs. It's just the crab mentallity....when one gets a leg up the others just want to grab him and pull him back down into the pot. Or as our mothers said " if you don't have anything nice to say just don't say anything at all".

He screw the haters that say you guys can't get anything done. I'd rather see my car in stages to let me know there are no cover-ups. I check your website regularly and you guys are sick. I love both the black '69 Camaros you guys did, the matte black and the fuel injected 572 one. I also love the green Blazer. Keep up the good work!!!!! Hey if you ever feel like sponsoring or trying out some new stuff on a car I have a '72 all-original GTO that would love for you to touch it and molest it (smile.)

Every year I look at the cars that you build, whether it is a SEMA car or a vehicle that you have at CES (my company displays there every year) and I must say I walk past the cars (before the doors open up of course I don't want to be bothered trying to climb over everybody else that that also enjoys your work!) and study them with great anticipation in seeing how you guys always out do yourselves, each and every year! If I had as much talent or could do the "magic" that you all do with sheetmetal I would just jump for joy!
You guys do awesome work and I like how you give a picture by picture progress report to show that you guys definitely know what your doing and are proud of it! You will always have the "naysayers" commenting about the negative or making attempts to defame you and your company, but with pictures such as these that you post and the cars that you have built in the past speaks VOLUMES on your ability to build top notch and quality cars! Keep up the good work! And if you ever need a car audio sponsor for a magazine project send me a PM I would be honored to work with you on some of your projects!

I will post some pics very soonFrom the pictures it looks like you guys do great work, I have also seen a couple of the other cars you have done in the past.
I am looking at having to do paint on my project soon, so here is my question: How much did it cost to bring this mustang or even the black 69 that you built to paint? I am not talking about metal work or rust repair, just the cost in bringing it to finished paint from after all metal work is done.

I know you can not transfer that price to my car directly since every car is different, but it gives me an idea of what your quality costs.

It is a loaded question because no two cars cost the same, ask any painter on this board or in the industry and they will tell you the same thing. On average you can look at it this way the Black Camaro is roughly $20K and the Orange car is more as it has 9K just in materials for the 3 stage paint.
When it comes to paint you get what you pay for and most people will not pay the big bucks for a complete right paint job. We charge $50 an hour for paint work and you pay for how long it takes, with out seeing the car it is a loaded question because if I quote something out I have to try and stay on that. I hope this better helps you.
I always ask people what they want to spend and then from there can guide you to how nice your paint will be. We have been painting cars for years and as I stated you get what you pay for when you come to us. Might not be the case at other shops.
If you would like to send me pictures of what you have I can get it close but nothing on paper till we see the car in person and go over it.

Yes all trim, mirrors and grilles are going black along with the dish on the wheels to help tie it all together. We are even going to paint the radiator to match with stripes and color

The stock gauge panel and glove box were removed and dash was reworked for new hand built gauge cluster and glove box. We dont like to keep the dash stock in any of the cars we do so we always rebuild them in some way shape or form. Basically its a one off becasue you would have to do very heavy mods to your dash.

Lamborghini orange and black very expensive but worth it, 3 stage paint and find a painter that knows this stuff or you will see flaws.
