I promised myself I wouldn't post one of these but here goes..

So, I've been watching this 69 Camaro down the street for quite a while now. It's been sitting under a moldy cover for at least last year and I finally decided to leave a "Wanna sell?" note with contact info in his mailbox.

Well, he called me over the weekend and I went to look it over, here's the rundown and I just want to know if the price is reasonable, he's looking to get $8-9K

-It's appears to be an old and very amateur resto.
-White base V8 car, nothing special. Don't have the cowl tag to see orig color
-Black Z28 stripes and 2" cowl hood
-Black interior (replaced) and in really nice shape.
-Rebuilt 350 running rough, Th350 trans with B&M shifter screwed onto console
-Modular aluminum American Racing wheels circa 1989, crap tires
-Has all new trim to make a Z28 clone
-X11 trim (worn)
-Trunk leaks severely through back window-trunk floor is swiss cheese
-Floors are a quickie patch job and will need to be done correctly
-Trunk drop downs were cut at the bottom of the quarter to remove rust and will need replacement (they don't connect to the quarter)
-Probably some bondo here and there but the white paint obviously hides it a bit
-Rear outer wheel houses (at least driver's side) were crappy screwed patches
-Small rust showing up on edge of trunk/tail panel
-Driver door skin is rusted on the bottom corner (bondo'ed over)
-Rockers appear solid
-frame appears solid
-Front fenders may be solid, looked pretty good

Looked like a pretty rough body with paint slapped over it to be relatively presentable. Personally, I think $8K is high. If it were anything other than a 69 Camaro, I'd value the car at $2500 honestly.

Any ideas on value?

Funny, I actually said $6500 and he wasn't really excited to hear it.

Nova is pretty much sold to a customer of Lenny's at Chop Shop Customs. Just waiting for the cash to move on something else that I can develop some parts for production. May need to talk to you about that actually.

ben there is a 67 camaro up the street from my shop. I think he is asking 5500.00 for it. I havn't realy looked at it but from the road it doesn't look bad. Let me know maybe I could get a couple of pictures of it. How was the show this weelend. I did not make it to the nationals, I was down the cape. Thanks, Jon.

Thanks Jon, sounds interesting.

Summer Nats were a bit of a snooze this year. Between fuel costs and the weather attendance was pretty bad. Thinking of going elsewhere next year maybe.
