I have a new gas tank that i will be sending to rockvalley to be set-up for my Ls1-t56 and my question is can a gas tank be powder coated? with it being new i would think that you would not haft to blast it but iam not sure thats why aim asking, again dont blast me if its a stupid question :question:

It would get blasted no matter what. Or at least the the powdercoat guys that i have seen do, just to make sure that all the contaminats(sp?) are off the tank. Hope that helps:thumbsup:

I'm not sure why you'd powder coat gas tank since you get get some "really" durable paint???? Also, do NOT shoot it a dark color as it will absorb heat... If you're realy anal, get the POR 15 coating system (rock hard and air tight) but it's a pain to work with... I used it on my frame and while it's hard and durable I could have just used an epoxy primer with just as good results....
