For those of you that have bought door hinges for your 68 firebirds and camaro's, if you got a good set, where did you get them? The new set I just purchased are very noisy and everything I've tried hasn't quieted them down. I'd just soon get another set of lowers but would like to go where some of you have already had success. Thanks ahead of time.

Yea I'd like to know the same thing. I forgot who I bought my lowers from but I got them about 2 years ago and the drives side already needs to be rebuilt.

I rebuilt mine with a kit from Classic Industries. So, far I like them. I am still building my car though. So, only time I open and close is getting in it to work on it. Not to drive it.

I rebuilt mine and they work great except the arm that the spring attaches to pops at one point of opening the door. What I have determined is the Rivet that holds that arm on has worn down and has way too much play and jumps causing the popping feel and sound. I haven't found anywhere to get a replacement rivet but found a place that sells shoulder bolts and need to get mine apart to find out exact dimensions to match it. I bet that will work much better:yes: PS I attempted to use a chisel and crush that rivet to tighten it up but not go...too hard of steel and thing is probably too worn anyway. When I find out how to get a replacement I'll let everyone know.
