Stopped on the way home a few days ago and snapped some pics before taking the motor out.. gonna be a LONG 3-4 months while the work is done but she will be a new woman in the end.. Jerked around with them in photoshop to make the car "pop" more.. I need to learn how to do the fancy photochop stuff..

Regardless of what else you do to it, the frontend looks so much better with a factory spoiler than it did with the other one.
You need to junk them cheap wheels though. :D

I like these 2 pics because they truly show how beautiful that paint is in the sun. We have been planning pearl orange for our mustang for about a year and these pics helped inspire us. The pics above make his car look like a tomato color. These show the true color.

There are other SOM Camaros out there, but I think what sets this one apart is the black wheels and stance. It truly gives it a sinister feel.

Cool, do you have a paint code number for it? The car I've got in the 'shop at the moment was going to be a similar sort of colour, I'm sure the owner would Luuuuurve that one :)

As stated it is an OEM color so it should be easy.

Steve,

Nope.. first off will be a new subframe.. then the motor and trans.

The four-link will just get "un prostreeted" by relocating the PHR and swapping out the shocks/springs.

Not much done to the interior except a few new guages to go with the LS2.. the cassis is damn stiff already..

Only outside changes will be a lower hood and diff offset for front wheels. I was thinking of smoked silver stripes of some sort but the jury is out on that one.

Oh, new stainless fuel cell to fit in the cubby no occupied by the JEGS plastic foam cell..

Same rearend.. same gears.. Oh, and that RATO system, but that is another story.. lol

Looks like the unit from 21st Century.. C5 stuff.. then I am going to beat and test the crap out of it..

That is one thing that drew me tword them.. Ed was really excited about testing the finished product and the fact that I want to track the car and run in events like the Pony Express..

That make points in my bood!

I think the car is just right as it is. Why buy a completed badass custom ride like that and then tear it all apart? You could do that with something that NEEDS rebuilding.

Why? Because I can.. lol..

I guess you would have to drive the car to understand.. 5mpg and bad handling gets old.. it's a drag car with pro-touring dance shoes on.. Time to make it handle on par with it's look..

Besides, I'm not changing (ie. rebuilding) the car.. the paint and interior are staying basicly the same. The wheels are staying (new front offset to take care of the scrub issue) and a few tweeks to the 4-link.

I like screwing with cars to fit exactly how I want them.. I also didn't want to be in paint jail for 6+ months so I got a car with pristine body and paint that I love.. not to mention a killer cage and a 90% done four-link.. toss in the bitchen Dana 60 and you have a car most of the way there, now I can take it the rest of the way.

If I had wanted to buy a bad ass car and just leave it alone I would have gotten a new C6 Z06.. ;)

Hi Steve, did you manage to find the paint code? thanks. :)

I can't find my spray can with the damn code on it.. am going to look this weekend..

I did find the small touch-up bottle the part number 04889623AA on it.. it is a chrysler/dodge part so maybe that will help. If I find the spray can (that actually has the paint code on it) i will post it or PM it to you..

Thanks for that, greatly appreciated, no rush as yet as I've a "shed load" of work to do to it before it's ready for paint, so don't bust a gut trying to find it

translationfor our American cousins :- shed load = a lot lol

To be honest I really have to think about what I'm writing 'cos I don't know if you'd all understand what I was talking about otherwise. Although we speak the same language there really are an AWFUL lot of differences lol :willy:

I understand. Separated by a common language!

maybe one day I'll write it as I think it & maybe translate it for you later lol there are so many phrases that we use in everyday conversation that it 's almost natural, things like, "thats the dogs that is" translation:-

dogs..... as in dogs bollocks, I take it you use the word bollocks in the US ie "nuts". It's shortened from "thats the dogs bollocks", so it means, "thats one really good......."

or, another simple one is, "my heads in the shed"
translation:- headshot or "f****d up"

as you say seperated by a common language, :)

English classes taken here, don't forget your homework

Not me, like all '67-'68 owners...I'm quite content.

We're an exclusive club, the 'dark side' of 1st gen ownership. It's actually kinda fun being the bastard stepchild of the '69.

Don't get me wrong, I love '69's.....I'm just messin' with ya guys. :D

Not exactly exclusive. There were about the same number made all 3 years (give or take 15-20,000) which means there are nearly twice as many "exclusive" 67-68 cars as 69's. ;)
Don't get me wrong, all first gens rock! I just happen to be one of the "chosen ones"!! :unibrow:
I'm just funnin', it's not like anyone else couldn't just go buy a 69 if they wanted it!

you know whats odd guys, there seems to be a desire set by demand. Here in australia there were a lot of 69 camaro's going cheap. 67-68 were the most desirable here for ages, but since you guys are all fighting over what decent 69 models are over there now, all camaro's here have become desirable.

The 69's were always on average 5-10k cheaper here, and harder to move.

Don't get me started on eleanor, i had a 66 coupe years ago, because thats all i could afford at the time, now years later when i have a better paying job and more disposable income, i would have given my left nut for a 67-68 fastback, but now they have managed to climb out of my pricerange even further.

I think it's because of all these people that have become 'enthuisasts' overnight, either drawn to the scene from movies like 'gone in 60', 'even fast and furious 2', and designers like foose, and the promotional events like ebay etc.

I'm happy with my 68, and had to fight another guy off to buy it.
