The current paint (GM Code 72 - Brilliant Red Metallic) was shot in 1990. The endura nose on my 71 Formula is starting to crack and I have some acid rain spots in the paint as well so my car is going in for a 3 week "spa treatment and facelift".

Basically just taking the endura nose down and redoing it with modern flex agents and doing a scuff & shoot on the rest of the car with a little more time spent with a long board and panel alignment.

The questions (poll) is to get your opinion on shaving the side marker lights or leaving them on the car? And whether I should keep the "Formula 400" and "P O N T I A C" emblems on the car or fill the holes and remove them?
Keep the car the same color or change it to Prowler Orange or something else.

The mods might clean up the overall look of the car... but removing the emblems might also detract from what the car is... after paint it'll get the full pro-touring treatment with wheels/tires/brakes... let me know your thoughts.

Ty

Car is in for paint right now... shaving the sidemarker lights, wheel well and rocker trim and the Formula 400 and P O N T I A C emblems for a smoother look.

Should have it back in 3 weeks... then 18" Rushforth wheels all around and KORE3 Z51 brakes and she's back on the road... shooting for July 4th!

Playing with changing the color to something else though... any thoughts? Just keep it the same color? It will have a “show car” finish but is still just a straight forward driver that'll look mean! (c:]

Let me know your thoughts...

I'm looking for an updated burgundy for my Firebird... something that's just one step hotter than the current color with a little more flake and something that will highlight the body's curves/edges. :unibrow:

We just had a new baby so I don't have time to cruise the car lots for new car colors. But Cadillac, Lexus Lexus, Audi, Mercedes etc all come to mind...

Looking for the burgundy equivalent to the Prowler Orange on Steven Rupp's Bad Penny Camaro. Something that'll make the car pop yet remain classy...

Could really use your help as the car will be ready for paint next week! :willy:
