Here is one way to whip a fresh Pro-Touring basket of goodies:

Take one 67 Camaro-

Shake well, until all loose, old, crusty suspension falls out-

Add two parts of Wayne Due (http://www.waynedue.com) suspension-

Put Wayne Due sub on a flat sheet-

Dump contents of 67 Camaro onto subframe-

Take 1 tall deck big block, 2 engine plates, and a McLeod modular bellhousing and sprinkle them onto the front end-

(Note some firewall clearance may be needed. In case of engine setback, subsitute factory pedal mounting with Tilton unit)

For optimal results, place engine behind front axle centerline-

For a topper, try adding a set of 20x10 and 20x13 wheels-

When placing in oven, make sure oil pan does not hang below frame rails-

Take Wayne Due brackets and place welder on tack for 15 min-

Blend Guldstrand components-

Slide rear into sheet with Camaro and Subframe-

I like looking at pretty pictures. Thanks. Where do the forward links of the rear suspension mount? I assume you will open up the firewall, yes?

The 4 link portion mounts to a bracket not yet welded in. It goes between the frame rail and the inner fender.
The firewall and tunnel will be removed for this car.
It is coming along nicely. As soon as the other 3 wheels/tires show, I'll pop it on the ground for a nice look, then off to the body shop for a few months.

I have a pair of Carbon Fiber half shafts on the way, along with full Guldstrand camber kit, 4 link bars, and tie rods. It will hold as long as those 20 wheels never hook!

Hi Tyler, is that the same frame you had Wayne build mid year? I was going to ask you how much difference between the C4 and C5 you may have noticed...ie: handleing. Looking good. Vince

Thanks guys, it has been really fun thus far.
It is my first time doing an IRS and I must say, thank God for Wayne Due. Those brackets made an interesting task, a painless experience. I'm sure the owner will be more than pleased with the end result. My car actually comes back tomorrow from CFCJ, (Carbon Fiber Composite Jail) so I need to finish this chassis up quick to make room for 50/50.
Scott-
Unsure when the completion date will be, as god only knows how long the body work will take. Plus there will be a ton of work to do after it gets back from Cali.
F70t/a- The tilton setup (http://www.tiltonracing.com/content.php?page=3floor) comes as shown, it is the new 3 pedal floor mount unit. I'll be using it on 50/50 as well, but thought I'd give it a try with this car first, since it will have the same engine setback as 50/50 does.
Vince- Yes, this is the same front sub that Wayne built to my requested specs. We did not move the rack to maintain optimal geometry, but it does require the engine setback and attachment via engine plates. I haven't driven a C4 WD clip, and my car is still months from completion, so I can't answer your question with any data- sufice to say, my gut tells me the C5 will lay the smack down on the previous frames.
