View Full Version : My car in the Nitto booth on Power Tour
Got confirmation today that my car will be in the Nitto Tire Booth on the Power Tour. I'm really stoked that Nitto wants to use my car!
What do you guys think of me putting a Lateral-g.net graphic on the car, like across the top of the windshield?
2 weeks! Can't wait!

Awesome!
Yes... put a graphic - it's obviously instantly recognizeable!
Congratulations! :theresa: :theresa: :theresa:
Cool deal!!!
You definitely should do a Lat-G graphic. You have to represent hehehe.

Hell Yes. It's a write off isn't it? Isn't this a promotional tour for the site?
Frank, no wonder you and I get along so well, we're always thinking the same. :D

Congratulations! Absolutely get a decal on that thing.
I tried a few ideas in photoshop, how does this look? A bit minimalistic, not terribly overpowering....

it will serve the purpose but I was thinking of the font on the top of the screen. Either way you're still a winner with the write-off.

Couldn't think of a better car to represent... :lateral:
I'm surprised Nitto doesn't want you to wear one of their windshield banners.

Congrats Scott, well deserved! I agree with the other guys, keep the font identical to the banner. Your actual logo isn't as wide as what you chopped in but you can probably scale it down so it's centered in the top of the windshield but no taller than what's in there. The logo font has a heavier weight anyway so it wouldn't be a bad thing if you scaled it down.

Congrats Scott! Nitto will have two cars with white stripes in the booth, they have also selected my Viper coupe (http://www.fquick.com/garages/Dodge/Viper/2006/11092/). Looking forward to seeing that pair side by side. A friend of mine will also be in the booth with his blue '68 Camaro ragtop (supercharged LS1). We are putting some new wheels and Nitto Invo tires on it next week.

I thought about using the font and scale of the Lateral-g.net text that I use on webpages, but it's really chunky. I think it would be too overpowering. I think a leaner, thinner font would be cleaner. Opinions are always welcome, that's why I posted the idea.

That's what I figured Scott. You probably know about www.dafont.com or www.1001fonts.com for fonts. I use PIRULEN font quite a bit and I got it from dafont.com for free. It has clean and light stroke look and it's modern looking.
Here's a few more to search for that I think look cool:
AUSProbe
Conceilian (3 types)
Gonzales Sans
Gunship
Induction
SF Squarehead
Stasmic
Ultra 911
Cool, thanks Ben. I have the Conceilian fonts, I use them a lot.
I really like Gonzales Sans (http://www.dafont.com/search.php?text=Lateral-g.net&psize=m&q=Gonzales+Sans) and Ultra 911 (http://www.dafont.com/search.php?text=Lateral-g.net&psize=m&q=Ultra+911). Those are booth cool yet thin and clean.

I would say that Gonzales Sans is the better choice. much more defined letters. Remeber even if it is cool, it does not matter if they cant read it.

Congrats, I too think it would be cool to use the font the site uses if possible, it's more reconisible.
BTW I had a chance to check out your car tonight down at Strikers, pics don't do it justice, very cool car.I think it was all the minor details you did to it that make it a stand out.:hail:
Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback on the windshield banner. Tyler gave me a good idea to try, I'm going to play with his suggestion in Photoshop.

Yeah I would have but didn't see anyone around, I got there late and met up with my friend Mike (Silver TA) then he showed me your ride and crawled all over it.(not really LOL) Pine Island huh, thats my problem too many shows and I have to get the shop finished so I can start working on my own rides.

What's all over the ground in that pic? That's not a slight hazing of snow is it?
Yep, that's snow... but I took that pic in January when I picked the car up after paint at Autokraft.
