I would like to invite everyone to the 5th Annual "A Day At The Strip". The event is held on July 19th - 20th 2008. The show is at the Mid-American Air Center in Lawrenceville, Illinois. This is where the "World Series Of Drag Racing" was held in 1956. So this gives you a chance to take your vehicle down the original drag strip (single timed runs only). This is where the first 150 MPH pass was made! Lots of history here. Saturday the 19th is an Autocross Sponsored by Air Ride Technologies. Other major sponsors are Bowler Performance Transmissions & Schwartz Extreme Performance. Sunday is the Single timed runs on the 1/4 mile strip.
Come and enjoy the weekend. There is a car show, dinner, Drag Strip (now a air strip), Autocross, and Bands on Saturday night. For $20.00 (add $5.00 for Autocross / SCCA weekend membership) you get in both days, which includes a T-shirt, dinner for two, runs on the autocross will be an additional $5.00 and you must pre-register by July 2nd & single timed runs on the Drag Strip on Sunday (we use the term unlimited lightly, there is a lot of cars that show up so you have to wait your turn), Car Show entry and entrance to watch the bands Saturday evening. Saturday will just be a cruise in, no judging. Sunday will be the car show and judging. Trophies for top 25 and custom built wooden trophies by The Woodman for the best of classes.
Where else can you do all that for $20.00 - $25.00? Take the drive and have some fun, tell your friends!
