I'm 41 with a 3.5 year old son and another boy due June 19th!
I thought I was the only one... but Tony (aka trapin) has one on the way as does Mark (aka Mecom Racer).
I'm a firm believer that "they" keep "us" young but they also affect choices we make in the hobby. Just yesterday Mark and I were discussing wheels for my car and I discounted the Year One/Forgeline "snowflakes" because they'll take up too much time to keep clean and polished. As many of us already know "there's not much time for certain things after a baby arrives..." LOL
My 3.5 year old son, Tyler, has his room done completely in the Cars movie theme. When he woke up yesterday morning his first two sentences were: “I want juice” and “I want to take the Firebird to school today.” (c:]
Already planning another garage/shop so I have room for two more muscle cars for my boys!
Post 'em up guys... (edited to add pics of my sons)
V/R,
Ty

I'm right there with you. I'm 31, have a little boy Bradley Jr. he'll be 2 June 15th, and we are expecting our 2nd son Chase Michael sometime late July the 31st is expected due date...
My 1st son's room is all Car movie stuff with my Dub cars on display and some models too. Heplays with his matchbox cars all the time. He's talking more and more an now whenever he hears a hot rod he's says daddy's car.
I've got a 66 Nova I want to build for Bradley Jr, and it looks like I'll be in the market for another car from that era for Chase!!

I am 43 with 2 boys, Hunter is 8 Dylan will be turning 6 in July. If Dylan graduates college in 4 years...I will be 60.
Both of my kids love my Camaro. I have a roll bar, so I do not let them ride in the back. I take them one at a time and strap them in up front with the 4 point harness. Both of them always say the same thing. "Go Fast Daddy!"
They also call my car "Bumble Bee" from the movie transformers.
I always said that I would never do another car, but I can see at least 2 more projects heading my way in a few years

I'm 49 with 6 children, 4 girls 2 boys, Oldest 19 (girl) and youngest 7 (boy).
If I let my 13 year old son he would sleep in my Nova. I never miss a Lacrosse, Football or Soccer game that they play and as long as it's nice they will always say "let's take the Nova".
For the boys I think it is a very valuable lesson to teach them the love of an automobile and how to respect the power...... and most of all being responsible and knowing when and where it is safe to use the power while having fun. Inevitably you'll always here the young kids say "go fast" or do a burnout" the must be taught that there is a time and a place and a busy road or a neighborhood is not the place. Teach them now and with Gods help they will always hear your words just before they try something stupid and put themselves or others in harms way...... God willing!

My kids love it when I take them to school in my car. They love the racket it makes, all the other kids stare when they're getting out.
My 5 year old son, takes every kid that comes over to our house to the garage first to see daddy's "hot rod". Kids are awesome.
Im right with ya.....Im 37 with 2 girls. The oldest is 4 and the youngest is 1. Its VERY hard to get time to do things on the car. Most of the time when I get to work on it is after everyone is in bed...mom included. I sacrafice sleep to get what needs to be done! Both of them love the Camaro. I am going to try and keep the car comfortable and drivable so that my family can keep coming with me to the car events. I crack up everytime when I flash the converter a bit and my 4 year old goes "whoa"...thats "fast"....

I heard that my wife was pregnant with our first child the morning of Chevy/Vettefest. I had just finished the Grand Sport Corvette and realized that weekend that it would probably have to go. My wife and I decided that she would quit working to stay home with him meaning almost half our income would be going away. Having a lot of debt on the project, I swallowed the biggest pill ever and put my car up for sale. I regret having had to part with it on a daily basis. It'll be a tough car to top in the future. In retrospect I know I made the right choice but I really want to have a car to enjoy with him now that it's obvious that he's inherited the "car genes". I'm 40 today.... anyone want to give up an "extra" car as a birthday gift? :unibrow:
Here's a picture of him shorty after his birth in 2006. Can you tell he likes cars?

Great thread!! Thanks for getting it started. I'm 39, I have a couple boys. James just turned 3 & Joseph will be 9 months next week. James loves the "Hot Rod'. If Dad's is in the garage - so is he! He always says " Daddy I want to help you with the Hot Rod", so it's great making him apart of it. As a Dad - it is best feeling!! Between James & I, Joseph doesn't stand a chance not getting the bug!! Car should have been done a long time ago - but as they say "Life is function of priorities". We'll get it done one of these days - with their help of course!

I also have two wonderful girls from my first marriage... Sasha is 24 and living in Japan for a year teaching conversational English at an American university... I guess being a military brat wore off on her even though she's not in the military. Megan, 19 is my youngest daughter and still my "baby girl". She's finishing up her sophomore year of college in Nebraska and will probably fight the boys for my Firebird when the time comes! I'm proud to say that my girls are level-headed, self-sufficient, successful Christian women. Now if I can only do as well with my boys... (c:]

I have 4kids. Oldes son Andrew (15) he is on a drivers permit. He wanted a Camaro like mine but all we found that we could afford at the time was a 68' Mustang $700.00. He is working on fixing it up. Then my daughter Brandee(13). Then from my second marriage is my son Cameron, I always wanted a son named Cameron (4) because it is like Camaro with an "N". My wife got a kick out of that. I won't tell her about the "E". Then I have a son Dallin (2). They all love helping me in the garage. We have some great memories working on the cars. I have always had full custody of my older kids.

Youngest daughter is 15 and I havent started anything for her yet.
Wife and I started our family right after getting married. Now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. We never stopped doing what we do but having kids did slow us down some. I have alot of projects on hold due to taking care of my family in the meantime. Some I may never get too and thats ok too.
For you folks with younger kids raise em right. After about 13-14 you wont be able to change them, only slightly alter their course in life. Dont wait too long or youll miss being the "daddy".
Great pictures so far guys! Keep em comin!

My daughter is 2 and full of attitude already. She was flipping through an old car magazine the other day and sees a red 65 Chevelle convertible with the top down. She thinks its my Olds and comes running over to me picture in hand as mad as a 2YO can be and blurts out "WHERE'S MY CAR SEAT!!!" I almost fell out of my chair I laughed so hard.
Over the last month or so that the car has been apart she comes out to the garage every few days to check on it and gives me a look like... huhhh! Its still not fixed  I got my hands full in the future that is for sure.

I seems that I'm a little older than most of you folks. I'll be 58 this June and have 1 son (22), 3 daughters(31, 19, 16), and 2 granddaughters (3 anb 2). My son is really in to cars, but prefers rice burners. I'm working on him. He went with me on the Power Tour last year and we both had a great time. The attached picture is the two of us gassing up. We're going again this year and are really looking forward to it, except for the gas prices. This is a cool thread

I am 30 with 3 kids, 5 year old son, 3 year old girl and 11 month old son...yeah I know, every two years seems we pop one out. I think 3 is enough tho. My oldest loves hot rods and draws them all the time. I hope I can get him into renderings when he gets older. will be cool. He loves to go to car shows and knows the difference between hotrods, ratrods, tuners and customs.
