Got it mounted up. Clears the hood latch, will need slight trimming of the bumper brackets, but future units will have the inlets moved a bit to clear.

I do have an RS front end but the doors won't open with this intercooler. No biggie, I have spoken to MANY RS owners who drive at night with the doors closed, they all say you can't even tell they're closed. I will be using better lights than stock.

It clears the standard front end without issue.

That's a BIG intercooler! Are you going to leave it brushed so it can be seen through the grill or are you going stealth mode? I think little children will be crying when you drive by. :hail:

I'm thinking it will be black; it's beautiful and I hate to paint it, but I don't want it to be a focal point up front.

Seeing those photos will make you want to change a project in mid-stream.
I am sure that you have stated this elsewhere, but are you still going black?

No, car is going to be silver with a titanium or darker silver hockey stripe and wheel spokes.

How about anodizing it so the paint don't act as an insulator? i would not think that would be good for an intercooler.

Rick, there's really no part number for the intake; Hogan's makes one-off stuff tailored for each application based on what the end user needs and wants. They can make pretty much whatever you want.

However, if Jody was given the original job sheet from Hogan's along with the intake (he bought it from someone else who had it built but never installed it) it would be easy enough for Tim and the gang over at Hogan's to build another one. Mind you, it's an LT1-style intake.

Jody, the intercooler & radiator are really trick bits of kit  Will the radiator support header panel where the pressing creases are be panelled in, or is it to be repaired to remove the creases? Can't wait to see this car finished....... Awesome

None of that shows with the front end on. I will likely do a complete cover over that area anyway.

You mean all this time you have been working on this motor and thats all you could come up with? :hail: J/K....Thats freakin' awesome.

Leave the intercooler like it is. No biggie if it's the focal point from the front. It won't be once you open the hood! Those other peices called TWIN TURBO's will get everyone's eye's refocused. Look's great Jody.

LOL, sorry about the confusion I caused Rick.

I'll vouch for Hogan's work. I've seen literally dozen and dozens and dozens of their intakes over the years (same with HRE Induction specialties) and over the years they've only got better and better in the quality department-- and when I first started seeing them they were already beautiful!

Hogan's now has so many port patterns mapped out now they can pretty much ship you an exact portmatched intake without ever even seeing your actual heads as long as you provide the necessary information correctly (deck height, angle milling, etc.)

You should see some of his latest Pro-Stock work, you can almost drop a soda can down the runners (and through the heads, too!)

Also, the insides of the plenums are just as nice as the outside. In fact, he's now doing some trick sculpted flow directors in both the lids and in the plenum for carb'd applications...

Just have your wallet ready; a basic bare-bones EFI manifold starts at around $2400. They also raised prices a bit about 2 months ago.

Jody, why is your car grey now? Last time I saw it, it was black and shiny? Other than the new paint job, its looking good, Wish I had pasquel at my disposal! :hail:

The friend of a friend who sprayed the car (it was too cold to paint in my shop) screwed it up and then blended it. I caught it and decided to strip the car and start all over. Although it was all NOS sheetmetal due to bondo, not rust, it still required re-doing all the prep (thanks Pascual!).

I'll hopefully be spraying it myself by this weekend.

Jody, you are doing silver/gray D90 stripe, right? Should look nice.

I have been in color selection hell forever. I think I'm going to put the top 3 colors on a dartboard...

Good choice. I bounce from Yellow, silver, black often. I will not do mine silver now that you are. Our cars will appear similar just from our hood selection and hockey stripe...assuming that you are still running an SS hood. I am stuck on yellow as that has been the orginal plan, but now that you are not doing black....sure looks good.

Payton,

A nice black paint job is beautiful. I decided as much as I plan to drive it and that I live in the country (dust) it will be too hard to keep clean.

Very nice Jody.

What's Ron Davis' experience with anodizing welded components? From a previous life, I did not have good luck with consistant, uniform color saturation.
