1971 Chevrolet Nova SS “Clone”
Original 307 Powerglide Car
Full restoration performed in the 2000 timeframe
1995 LT1/4L60E pulled from an Impala SS.
56,000 miles on engine and trans. Installed 2006
Engine: 1.6 roller rockers, 160 degree thermostat, no EGR or air pump, 52MM throttlebody with coolant bypass, 1LE intake elbow, crankshaft power pulley, new 180 amp alt. Hooker headers, Aeroquip Adjustable fuel pressure requlator. Canton Racing aluminum valve covers, polished by PatMai Corp. Complete with check engine light and diagnostic connector inside car. OBD1.
Trans: TransGo shift kit, stock converter, Corvette servo and spring. Bowtie overdrives rear housing to allow for electronic VSS and cable for speedo. B&M Megashifter set up for 4 speed overdrive trans. Shifts hard.
Axle: 8.5” 10 Bolt, narrowed 2” on each side to allow for dished wheels. 3:73 GM gears, Eaton Posi unit, Moser Axles, C clip eliminator, all new bearings and seals. All work performed by DTS.
Wheels: 17X7 Front with 235/45/17 tires. Wheels are at 4.25 backspace to allow for the addition of disk brakes (will move wheels outward .25”). Rears are 17X9.5 with 275/40/17 tires. Wheels are at 4.5” backspace (I like the look of dished wheels in the rear). Stock fender wells with the lip trimmed.
Suspension: Front – Hotchkis front springs ( 1.5” lowering), Rear – DSE 2” lowering leafs. Hotchkis front and rear sway bars (rear not on car). Poly bushings throughout. Edelbrock IAS shocks front and rear. DSE re-worked upper and lower control arms. Steering gear rebuilt, improved feel and close ratio by Harry’s Steering Gear.
Brakes: Currently 4 wheel drum, manual brakes. All brakes rebuilt with new spring kits and shoes.
Other: Griffin aluminum radiator with Flexlite Black Magic electric fan. Jeg’s aluminum overflow canister. Aeroquip electric fuel pump (external) with canister style fuel filter (located in front of tank). Exhaust is 2.5” duals with H pipe. 30” chambered mufflers. This car is LOUD! Getting 21MPG at the current tune (cruising at 75-80mph), could be dyno tuned for more power (I kept it on the conservative side). Last dyno run was 247HP and 266 Torque to the wheels by Livernois Motorsports. Windows are tinted to 20%. All braided fuel and P/S lines (Aeroquip & Earls).
Extras:
• LS1 Camaro (98-newer) 4 wheel disk brakes (Pads, cross drilled rotors, calipers, rear backing plates, braided brake lines). I never got around to installing them.
• 3.5” MAF Sensor
• New door handles/chrome hood lip
• Eaton Front springs (cut 1 coil) to allow additional 1 inch drop in front from where it currently sits.
$20,000.00 O.B.O.
