This is the kind of stuff that pilots pass along to each other. It's not to often this kind of thing happens, but when it does it really gets your attention. I've hit birds before but nothing like this!

Thought I would share.

Boeing has a couple of Challenger business jets for company executive
travel. Over Colorado they took a direct hit. Upon impact, the crew must
have thought of a bird strike (or sky diver)! The carcass penetrated the outer skin, punched through further structure and ultimately kicked out an instrument, as you can see in the photos. Turbine blade impact was also a consequence of the event. Look at the picture of the engine and pay attention to the tail...it's covered with blood. That's one big ass bird!

They will patch the airplane up and do what's called a fairy flight and take ti to be fixed. Not sure what altitude it was at, but aircraft like that are pressurized from take off to landing, so yes they lost pressurization. I can picture the pilots grabbing the O2 masks and thinking WTF!

Been there, done that! Those are never good, as you never know if your flight controls are jacked up.
