thought I would share these - my buddy took these shots at the show while we were there yesterday. Diggin' the Challenger and had an original on display right by it to compare and it is amazing how much they really 'copied' the design (which I think is the right thing to do so not bagging on copying the old). As I mentioned in another Challenger photo thread, a bit thick thru the middle which is really typical of late Dodge styling (a 2" section thru the gut would be nicer IMO) but overall this car really brought a lot of attention and looked great. He shot the rearend of the orig per my request cuz I really like how they made the rear of the new one looks so similar with the central backup lighting and dual exhaust thru valence. Pretty cool.

the ZR1... need I say more?? Werd. This car is the shizzle for sure (using correct language to match the see thru hood) but other than that, car is absolutely amazing :wow: :faint: just a couple shots - not gonna waste server space on a lot of pix as this is the car that has been shown on the site before in detail from GM press releases/etc

cool Daytona-ish concept in the Ford booth. I really think the Shelby Daytonas may be in my top 5 favorite cars ever (which says something cuz I like about a bizillion cars :D )

some misc photos. A Roush 427R which wasn't a 427 of course (why???). Don't get it, the Z06 IS a 427 and this thing says it is, but alas I was let down. I was really hopeful as I want to love Fords again. Figure would post a pic nonetheless for those interested.

An Eleanor copycat late model. Minus the stupid too big 20" wheels/tires it was a rather nice car (had a Kenne Bell that they spelled Kenny on their display sign, but what can you expect from a dealer hahaha).

Lastly, I have to admit I love the Lambos and have since I was a kid with two Countach posters on my bedroom wall. If I could afford one of these or buy a few Vettes, I would be hard pressed to not have just one Murcielago. The styling of the Lambos have always been one step ahead of everyone else IMO tho' I get over the styling in strange fashion - I always hate the next model at first, then after a couple years can't imagine why I liked the old style to begin with  I look at a Countach now and think how hoaky they look but man it was the absolute coolest thing when I was 13.

Is it just me, or did the Eleanor car straight rip Pontiac off on the rear spoiler? Think 70-78 Trans Am!
That must be why I dig it!

I am not a fan of Ford's SOHC V8 engines. The only modification for them seems to be a supercharger or twin turbos. I don't know of anyone doing cylinder heads or camshafts for them. If they are it's news to me. They need to do an updated version of the Cleveland mill. We're getting great V8 fuel economy from our Gen III, IV, and V pushrod engines. I don't know why Ford can't do the same and go back to that. My uncle picked up an '07 Mustang last year with the 4.8 liter engine, 5 speed (5 speed??!! What is this, 1986?) transmission, and it was a convertible. I got to take it for a test drive and needless to say I was not impressed at all.

thanks for adding those Jason - my friend was shooting those pix and I dunno if he jacked up his exposure or what, but they were dark. I didn't bother posting the black GT500 because it was so dark, so I am glad to see you got a good one. I think that KR is a pretty cool looking car and probably the best overall for looks IMO, and was surprised it didn't have the lower GT500KR sticker on the door... I thought they were going to have them.

Scott - you see what I see, the Challenger could use a 2" section right thru the middle IMO as well.

Not a problem, my buddies actually had to tear me away from the ZR1 so that we could leave.

Know anyone who wants to buy a kidney, I have one for sale! :D

i have always been a chevy guy but i think the new vette looks cheap and very japanese in the styling, i would walk right past it as it doesnt seem to stand out anymore, probably goes well but so do a lot of supercars these days for that money, think i would rather have a roush mustang or something or i bet the challenger would grab more attention , there just seems something missing in the style dept , well for me anyway:rolleyes:

Wouldn't it be awesome if they built a vette that resembled the 60s sting ray?

I have a buddy that feels the same. I personally dig 'em - especially the Z06 and ZR1 with the wider fenders and quarters.

At least they don't scream "I'm a Dentist!" like the C4s and C5s. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

I sorta agree with Boulder69 - I really like how the C6 looks, but it may be the subtlety that draws me too it ('course I am the same guy that loves the Murcielago which isn't that subtle). I didn't like the C4 (it is okay) or the C5 (waaaayyyy too much booty for my taste) but the C6 is sharp.

On that note, as an experiment I have been asking dudes around my engineering job what they think of the ZR1 and every one of them asked "are they really keeping that lame-ass see through hood?" so I dunno where they get their market research that says that is good, cuz my market research has been 100% negative on that. They all like it including the clear coat carbon fiber (that I think is ricer/lame but I am the minority there) and so forth, but generally thought the chrome wheels are a bit much (you can get silver  ) and all laughed at the hood.

Yeah Scott it is a little tall in the quarter window area, but all in all it is a beautiful car.

It's damned near 5' tall! 57" to be exact! It's 6" longer than a Chrysler 300 and weighs over 4k pounds.....

I'll give up the right. I'm tired of fighting kidney stones!

The "427" on the Roush Mustang is the horsepower rating they had when they first came out, they're now 435 HP. It's kinda misleading.
