I need to shorten my diff in my 69 camaro 2.5" per side since I installed my mini tub kit and the chassis shop told me I will have to cut the stock leaf spring perches off in order to have clearance for the bolts to mount up the backing plates. Is this when I install the DSE adjustable leaf spring pads???? Does anyone have pictures of theirs handy to clear this up for me?
thanks in advance

You dont really need to narrow the housing... unless you want to change the offset of the wheel to give it more dish. Its more bling than anything else... but it would be a good idea to have the wheel center in the center of the hoops in consideration for strength.

So with that said... you wont need to cut your perches off, unless they hinder your tire and wheel fitment or if it hinders your leaf spring re-location and off-set shackle/leaf spring clearance with the whatever wheel and tire you choose to run.

well since you have to narrow it then yes you do when running the DSE adjustable perch. The old one gets all up in the way...this is from Mikes car.

I went with a 12" wide rim with 6 and 1/8" backspacing so I will have to shorten the diff about 2.5" per side.Once we did this the old perch was completely in the way so we just cut it off.Vince and Chicane thanks for the info.Yo Vince got any more pics of the diff??? especially ones with the adjustable perches.
thanks

thats so I don't fall off. LOL

Its just 1/4" rod. Its mainly to hang stuff from and also to keep a level surface for material with mock up bolts sticking out of it and to suport material when cutting.

Steve, I got a bunch....i'll email them to you.
