I have a question, something I have been curious about with all the billet hinges popping up. How long have they been out and how do they hold up? I havn't seen any up close in person yet, but I have a question from the pictures I've seen.

It looks as though the rotation points are ball bearings? How are they held in the arms? Press fit, snap ring? My concern is side loads, like whe someone closes the hood by pulling or pushing off center. All that load will go to those joints. If they are just press fit, they could possibly loosen in the aluminum arms over time.

Don't get me wrong the pictures I've seen from the Ring Bros. and the Fessler Built units all look like exception parts and I know they all do excellent work. I just wondered if they have been proven to hold up over time. We all know the hoods on these cars open as often as the doors do!

I was just curious! :D

I'm not sure how they hold up long term, but they are 10 times better then stock. So they should be able to last until anybodies car is completely out of style twice.

Even if your car is monchromatic, and seafoam green they would last a awhile.

Even if it has 15" Billet 3 Blade directional wheels with flutes and plastic hex nut centers?

Not a thing, they are perfect for a monchromatic, and seafoam green pro-street 34 Ford Street Beast Coupe. :unibrow:

I am still curious about the original question. Anybody else?
