Recommended fuel pressure?

I'm running an Aeromotive a1000 pump and the corresponding regulator for a carb application... 434 small block with a 950 carb, around 600 HP

Is there a recommended fuel pressure I should shoot for???

I'm planning on doing a dyno tune once the motor is broken in and all the "glitches" are worked out, but I was hoping to at least get a good starting point.

I have it set at about 7 psi now....

6-7 psi is fine.

An A1000 will be circulating a LOT of fuel at that low of a pressure... keep an eye on the filter closely for a while as moving that much fuel will get your tank spotlessly clean in no time and move all the debris to the filter. :P

Ned, that's pretty much the same setup I had, and I also ran 7psi and had no problems. I had an electric fuel pressure gauge in the dash and it never moved.
