Hey guys,
Here's a few pics of my ongoing restomod Buick project that I have in the works. I've been welding on the stock frame for the last few days that I had free and here's where I'm at so far...

keep the pics coming great work
Frame looks great. Are you going to paint or powdercoat it?
It'll get powdercoated.
This is my first frame -off project and I'm glad I'm doing the car this way and also not surprised why the frame get's stress cracks at the suspension pick up points. The factory welds are horrible.

glad to see you are boxing the frame... the rear suspension mount points can do with alot of reinforcements... rear LCA mount should be reinforced to the frame.. and the rear UCA and LCA mounts tied together...
SC&C have a wattslink for g-bodys that wil ship in mid april, but of you want the race version that welds in it ships now as far as i know...

I started on the rear of the frame today. Re-welded the LCA mounts and I'll make some gussets to reinforce it better. I've also got a pair of support braces that tie the upper and lower control arms together :D
I'll have to get in touch with Mark about that watts-link...:unibrow:

Yeah the g body has a lot of holes for motor mounts since that frame had like 8 different engines for it.

a couple of other places one could weld in reinforcements are in the front like the SC&C frame brace.. but welded in place, and a bar in the rear to tie the frame rails together behind the fuel tank... its a big tuning fork back there...
what are you doung for body mounts, solid?? and what about a frame notch??
The front I can't do much with because of intercooler piping. I'll try the SC&C bar to see if it works but a removeable piece is more appealing since I can take it or leave it.
The rear bar sounds interesting and I'll definitely take a look at doing. You wouldn't have pictures of a similar set up would you ???
As far as the bushings go I'll probably end up using energy suspension pieces since they also come with the missing #5 GNX bushings.
More pics to come tomorrow :D

nice! just be sur eto make a hole so you can get the bottom half of the frame mount rubber (or alluminum if you go all out) and be sure to do it before you paint it...
looking good by the way
In the drivers side picture you can see I have a outline of where the bushing is going to go. I'll be ordering a set of poly bushings in the next day or so to get the proper size hole made.
BTW deuce,
I've got a SC&C watts kit sitting at the shop that'll get welded in soon :D
Thanks for the heads up on that

Nice! im really lookirg forward to seeing your build.. and i must admit that żou have done a very nice job on that frame!
will you be adding GNX fenderflares or keep it stock regal??
Thank You, it's been a lot of work so far.
I go back and forth on the GNX flare thing, I like them but I also like an all steel car too...I can't make up my mind :goofy:
