Ok how much Hp will i need to break 11.99 on a non prepaired track on 18 inch tires, running a 2600 rpm stall and 3.73 gears... no drag shocks!

i know that slicks, a 4000 rpm stall and a guttet car is faster.. but the Bu is a PT build, on low profile tires.. my question is will i be able to break into the ellevens with a heads and cam LS1??

the cam is 226/232 .609”/.604” 111LSA +2 advance, and the heads are CNC ported 5.3L.. it should put me in the 430+ RWHP range, tranny is an A4... and the weight is 3400 lbs...

my question to you drag race guys is how fast will i be able to go on some semi sticky low profile tires....

We run 7.60's on a 10.5 radial tire. You just need some squeeze.

im not sure how much nitrous i dare run with stock pistons and a 5.3 head.. a 150 shot?? also when does a 4l60 give up? (its only supposed to live up to 550 Hp...)

The car im hoping to beat is an 08 M5, and it runs 12.4 right off the show room floor:willy:

150 should be fine just DON'T use a dry kit, you MUST add fuel to the nitrous, your o2s and stock injectors wont and can't compensate for that amount.

I think you can do it.
It depends how unprepared the track is and how good a driver you are.
My son Dale, ran 12.43 @ 112 with his 3500lb 82 TA. Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires, 18". His rwhp is about 350. (477hp engine dyno). TH350 with 3000 stall, 342 gears. The track was prepped a bit though.
I ran 12.36@114 with my 96 LT4 vette, Goodyear GSC's 320 rwhp.
My Cad did 11.80 @118 on Yokohama AVS100 with 497 rwhp 3970#.

I ran 12.14 @111.4 in my regal with 340 RWHP.

A head and cam LS1 with a BFG drag radial like I have should get you into the 11's.

Yesterday I ran an 11.995 at 113.xx in my big old Fairlane. The last chassis dyno put me at 452 rwhp.

This was on ET Streets...

Excellent Steve. Thats really humping in a Pro Touring car. That entire rear wheel dyno thing is so misleading. My street racer only makes 414RWHP on motor and runs 10.70s, LOL! Amazing what a purpose built converter, gear, etc will do.

BTW, I understand that Fairlane is going to be pretty well traveled heading to Florida when your finished with the A/C install for a little "custom work"

Duece, those BFGKDW2s work as good as any tire for hooking up, so you may very well stand a chance.

Yea, I could have gotten it down into the 11.80.. maybe even 11.60 range - but my goal was the 11's and I really didn't want to break Yancy's car. lol

Next I toss in a AODe and then a Vintage Air system. I didn't know it was going to Florida.. whatcha going to do to her?

I think you can do it but you will need at least 115-116 mph trap speed to make up for the so-so launch. Go for it!
