I know that I am going to hurt the feelings of some of the Camaro guys..
But I like new Challenger a lot more than the new Camaro.
Probably because the Challenger is more true to the original design...

I really like the look of the new Mustang and the new Challenger. I'm confident Chevy will keep massaging the Camaro until it's just as nice. It's like 1969 again - sorta.
Thx Kevin !!

I agree. Chevy didn't do too good of a job with the Camaro. I wish they would bring back a 70 Chevelle concept.

Wow, $40K.
Even includes its own 1/4 mile and 0-60 timer... I could see that causing some competition among the kids.. ;)

Ive got an 08 SRT8 Blk/Blk that I should hopefully see in May.... I do kind of wish I would have held out for the 6speed... heck with delivery being what it is... I may not see it until 09 :D

When will the 6-speeds be out?

The SE and R/T will be out this fall (R/T gets 6 speed option). The SRT8 cars will be hitting the streets this spring (automatic), then later I think the SRT8 may have a manual option. Heres a good link below.

Wow....you'd have thought that on a site that embodies handling and power, people wouldn't get so excited about an overweight, bloated, un-original version of a great car....

Yes, the new challenger is hefty. Thats ashame, it takes the srt8 (6.1) hemi in the big challenger to out run the 300hp 4.6 mustang. If they could have made it weigh the same as the mustang and new camaro, the challenger would eat the new camaro fairly enough. However, just like back in the day, the challenger is coming in heavier then the other pony cars, only this time heavier. Chrysler should have just used the small A bodies for autocross racing back then.
Maybe if it sells well, they can build a new challenger on a smaller platform? Still, It will be cool to see the run down in Motor Trend. You gotta at least give them credit for finally giving Mopar guys a 2 door, rearwheel drive, v8 car. All we had was the dakota for a looooong time.

From the reviews I've seen the new Challenger has plenty of power and has pretty good handling. And more then anything it actually looks good doing it. Which is something the new Camaro, whenever it finally actually hits the road, doesn't have. Sure it's overweight. Everything is nowadays. A Solstice weighs 3000#.

Another vote for the other guys. All the latest photos I've seen of the Camaro suggest to me that Chevy missed the mark. The Chally and Crustang look good though. Can't wait to see an SRT8 dressed up in some nice wheels and lowered suspension.
Oh well, still praying we're blessed with a CTS-V coupe!!!

All signs show the new Camaro being over 4,000 lbs thats not light and ='s well not alot of performance without a biggg motor

Wow, that is challengers weight. I thought the new camaro was supposed to be closer to mustang weight? I guess the camaro, with its IRS just couldnt get that low in wieght. Looks like pricing vs engine power is gonna be the big battle between the Camaro and Challenger. The 5.7 hemi for 2009 has 385hp and 404 lbs, what is the 5.7 ls1 pushing out these days?
Looks like the mustang will beat the Dodge and Chevy in the wallet and 1/4 mile, I wonder if they will out handle the stang........

It shouldn't be that difficult for the Camaro and Challenger to outhandle the Mustang in stock trim. The Fords handle like dogs from the factory.

have you guys actualy seen one of these up close ?
I have its HUGE almost the size of a ford explorern and it weighs in over 4 THOUSAND pounds
it sits a good 4-5 inches taller then a 03 ford cobra and is at leaast 8 inches longer
its actualy bigger then the original
here is a good comaprison to a sn-95 mustang < wich is no small car >

the 2010 mustang is going to have 400 horsepower also so ford wins the stop light war since its the lightest of the three at 3600 vs 3800 for the maro and 4100 for the dodge

i thought it was kinda odd, that they were only offering the challenger with an auto only.i was kinda thinking about one and ended up calling several dealers in my area ,to find out two of the three were not only getting one, witch was previously thought, but they were going too get two or three.i think i will wait for the new camaro.

I think there may be a manual transmission in the works for next year's model on the Challenger.

I like it but it needs a real hemi not that misnamed engine they put in it.
