Hey guys,
I'm ready to paint the frame, floor and firewall on my 69 camaro coupe and was wondering what to use. I want that satin black look without being to glossy or to flat. I used GM Black Reconditioning paint about 5 years ago when I did my 69 pace car and it is perfect. My body guy suggested Transtar black with a flattening agent but not sure what ratio to mix it? Any ideas?

dp 90 would hold up for a while, but has no uv resistance and should be top coated.

+1.
I wouldn't think that the floor, frame and firewall would be subject to much direct sunlight.

Chassis Coat Black From Por-15 Or Extreme Chassis Black From Eastwood. Both Have Uv Protection And Claim To Be Chip Resistant.
I Believe Both Have A Satin Sheen.
The POR Chassis black is good (not the rust POR) or I have a formula for PPG DCC single stage I use thats pretty nice also thats a semi gloss.

use ppg alk 250 (check the part #) its a nice satin gloss and its cheap ,about 29$ a gallon and it will hold up too. it will take a good bit of brake fluid on it before it peels. you can add hardner for a little extra , and it will be indestructable. i usually just spray it out of the can w/no hardner, it is very simular to recon black. bill

not a dupont fan, but there hot rod black is perfect , it needs to be catalyzed, so it holds up in all conditions
