So I am pretty tight about keeping my car clean, not too many people have been in it, take care of it, ect ect...
Well anyway, I went to The Hole In the Wall Gang Camp...This is Paul Newmans camp for sick children from Cancer to aids and everything in between. All of his "Newmans Own" products go to this camp.
Anyway today was the kids "Woodshop 500", they build little wooden cars and race them down a track. So they invited me to bring my car to wake the kids up in the morning and park near the track. I got there and drove around the cabin circle with it. The kids all came running out with their cameras and such. It was fun.

Then I pulled around to where the races were and as soon as I stopped the car, 10 kids were on it, looking in, opening the doors, hoping in. I was told it would be roped off and ect, but I didnt mind. Alot of the kids just sat in the car and pretended to drive, opened ever single compartment hoping to find keys. They loved it, so it was fun for me.

My carpet took a beating, but nothing permanent that a few hours tonight wont take care of. But it was a good cause and I thought you guys would like to hear. Normally its 40 year old guys commenting on my car, so it was cool to 10-12 year olds all about it. And since I am young they loved it even more...THIS IS YOURS!!!! Your too young!!
Well, maybe I am!

Let me be the first to commend you on what you have done. I am proud of you. Those kids deal with more in a week than most of us deal with in a whole lifetime. These kids are beyond special.

I have a brand new carpet set in my garage waiting to be installed and I will ship it to you if your carpet does not come clean.

What a nice thing to do. As I've always said, I think true car people are the best kind of people out there. I'm always at the racetrack and I've met absolutely the nicest, most humble people while out there....oh yeah, and some of them had really fast cars too!!!

Thanks for the link! Those smiles are almost bigger then when I first got in the car!

The real great people are the workers, volunteers, and conselors at the camp (my brother is one). They spend the entire summer with these kids, each week is a different group. One might be Aids, Sickle Cell, Cancer, and I only spent a couple hours this morning, but I know it has to be tough to spend the entire summer. It is alot of work and these are all great guys and gals. I met alot of the leaders and workers and they kept thanking me, but they work really hard and need the thanks.
Hopefully I get a chance to go back...they do this every session with the kids!

I vacuumed the car out quick before work, and its fine. Like I said, a little dirt is worth it for them to crawl around the car and have a good time!

Thats a really cool story Tim and I bet those kids will tell it the rest of their lives. Mabey it can help them to appreciate older muscle as they grow up. Who knows, they might even end up on this site in a few years. :drive:
