Was wondering how and/or where you guys are getting sand paper. There's nothing where I live locally, so I'm looking on line. I'm looking for adhesive stuff for Dura-Blocks. Let me know if you find the rolls or sheets the most handy. I've seen 3M of course and Mirka, do any of you have a brand pref? I'll only be looking to do a couple cars so I'm not sure if I need 40 yards of paper, then again I'm not really sure. Plus the fact that the rolls seem like they'd be pretty useful and probably cost effective. Anyway, thanks for the help. Any information is helpful.

What are you going to sand? I like PSA rolls of 3M. You can get them in 180 - 500 grit. And yes you will go through it quickly... For clear sanding I like the 3m wet/dry sheets.

i use carborundum, works killer, last better then 3m, and they have it all.
i i use da to strip, feather edge, then sheet roll to block sand etc with durablocks

Thanks guys. Sorry, I'm using it for just generally blocking the car - sanding filler and then later, the primer. I've been googling the crap out of it and can't seem to get a good feel for what I should get. You know, one site claims to carry automotive stuff but then it doesn't carry what I thought I wanted or, it seems to be the same thing but costs significantly more than the last site I was at. Or whatever. I was thinking I'd need like 220 and 400 grit. And of course I'm just compairing this to various things I've read .. magazines, books, whatever. We've just been using what we could get locally but it hasn't been really great. And when you go through it pretty fast, it just seemed like I needed to get something else. Anyway, I got the dura-blocks and I've just been trying to figure out weather I need to just get rolls of paper or the 2 3/4 strips.
quick edit, I wanted to throw in that I've been using 3M sheets already cut for the long board, however the best I can get is small packs. This is obviously not cost effective because inch for inch they cost significantly more than rolls or large boxes of paper. The long board also doesn't do everything of course, so now that I need the adhesive paper for the blocks, I'm sorta shooting in the dark I guess. I was hoping you guys were familiar with these flexible blocks and could point me at what you're using. And also, if you're getting it online, where.

if all that you have is durablocks then you get the 2-3/4 rolls, which are called sheet rolls, the other discs are for dual action sanders, so i am not sure why you do not know which one you need.

the 2nd site has the carbo for what i pay for it as a body shop, you can get cheaper paper but you will go thru alot more of it

appreciate it. It does seem like the rolls would be very convenient for the various block sizes.
No the problem is that I've noticed they sell 2 3/4 inch sheets at various lengths.

buy the rolls, way easier and like you said convenient for different size blocks.
the only one piece sheets i buy are 80 grit to go on my long boards, and i am not even sure they make the one piece sheets in anything more then 80 grit.
go with the sheet rolls

That's what I'll do then, thanks. So I noticed the rolls only go up to 320. What are you using to sand primer before you spray color?

full sheets of 400,600 and sometimes 800, trim to the size block needed, however 9.5 long block is as long as you can use with the full sheet paper
