Hi All
Can any one tell me what the horsepower limitations are on a 350 vortec 4 bolt block are.

That's very hard to say. I'd guess around 450hp. I think rpms can be as much or more of a factory when it comes to block reliability.

I would think much higher, like 600 or 700 horsepower before you actually had a block failure...not to sure though.

I was hopping around 700 to 800. I guess well throw some boost at it and find out. Thanks for your replies.

If you can find a nice cube van block or truck 1 ton and over use that. Usually the vortec block has no provision for fuel pump, but these have been found with 4bolt main and mechanical fuel pump pushrod holes machined and everything. I have a block like this and on a scale with no main caps, it weighs 15lbs more than the standard 1/2 ton block with the same casting #'s. When sonic checked the main web is thicker and the cyl sleeves are usually .040 thicker as well.
