Weighing for CG

I have access to a stock truck which is basically the same thing as my truck now just not as low, and since my project isn't done I was wondering would it be safe to weigh this one to get an idea of CG or does the height really change to calculations that much being that this truck is about 5" higher off the ground? I still plan on setting up adjustable brackets, but I wanted to get it close.

This is just finding the weight, the rest I will be able to figure out on paper.

The ride height actually has the biggest effect on CG. So measuring a vehicle 5" higher, won't even be close. To get an idea, you can calculated the cg height for the stocker and then subtract the amount you are going to lower the truck. If you are swapping from a 4 or 6 to a v8 or BB then weighing the stocker is pointless. Everything changed will affect the cg from the tires and wheels up! To weigh for the cg make sure you have good scales (Digital if Possible) and a high lift jack as you will have to jack one end of the truck up pretty high to get the proper numbers.

I know how to get it and the height measurments things, but I mean will the height change the way the weight is disbursed? Like will it weigh different when it's lifted up being 5" taller or will it still weigh the same?

Maybe I missunderstood. The overall weight will not change no matter how high or low it is. I thought you were talikng about the height of the cg. Sorry.

that's what I thought, I kind of worded it badly. So thank you! This should able to get me close to what I need then I will just adjust the bars to get it perfect when it's all back together, all the measurements I will be able to figure out on paper anyway so the height and such is all set. Thanks for you help man! I can't wait to get that book I really want to figure out the control arm specs, and how to set them up.
