Right on Charlie.
Maybe someday I will buy one and put my ticket to use. Although I have probably forgotten how to even use it.

We've got 5 Haas machining Centers and haven't had a minutes problem with any of them............They are not in the Okuma zone, but are decent machines..............Just my $.02

I use there machines and here my problem

a 1/2" end mill .250 deep cut in 6061 and can stall out a VF3
using and old 8N mazak (8hp 1991) lathe doing a 1/8" deep pass on a piece of mild steel theres only 60% lod on the motor so like 5.5HP, on the haas SL20(2007 22hp "vector drive"), I have 96% load with the exact same cut, material and insert SFM and feed 22hp motors my ass! There like a honda's NO TORQUE

He makes everything from EFI boxes, motorcycle parts, wakeboard racks to Billet taillights. He is geared more toward mass production more that one off type stuff.

Production is the best direction to go. One offs are to time consuming. Nice Charley/Jim:thumbsup:

Depends if you have the High Speed Spindle set up which takes bottom end torque away.......All our Haas do "Not" have High Speed spindles and have the Bigger Motor Options.....Just got a VF-6 with 30 H.P. and thru Spindle coolant options.....we were Drilling a 1" hole thru 3/4 stainless in 7 seconds per hole....Pretty Cool........Heres a link showing one of our Okuma's Hard Milling 60Rc D-2 ..........Technology is Cool.........

Hard to Imagine Hard Milling a part like this 5 years ago.......We used to spend 2 hours grinding each part..........machined 24 parts and stayed within .0002........Crazy...

Didn't mean to Hijack the thread Charley..........
