Tim, the cover you see here is the newstand version. The cover of the subscriber version has a car that's featured here. :)

You're being mean, bro. Thats one of the few mags I don't subscribe to.

Really? PHR really focuses on what we're all about - the g-machine movement. Definitely a magazine to get, IMO.

In the newstand issues there is a card where you can get TWO F'ing YEARS of the magazine for $14.. do the math on that one.. I think it costs us almost that much to mail the darn things.. lol..

Ok, I will. $14/24 = $0.58 an issue.

I know..... I usually buy my subscriptions from the door-to-door fund raising school kids, but the last time they came, I didn't see it in the little booklet. I do pick one up at the grocery store every so often though......

What a PITA!! I can't seem to get any info on the cover car or on the turbo LS1 mentioned.

I'd love to see both features so I guess I'll have to go buy the magazine!!

The Alumin8r (Jody-Charlie-Jody-Stuart) car was featured last month or so. It'd be interesting to see how the 2nd gens can be modded to g-machine status.

this almost sounds like my life motto..."buy high...sell low...make it up in volume"

now if i could just get around to the volume part i might be set :willy:

Just when I figured it out too! The PT guys gave it away, but I thought it was the new 68 Penny.

Congrats Steve! Always an awesome car.

Well I guess the cat has escaped its tattered bag..

Thanks.. here is the story behind the "cover"..

When I was applying for this job Super Chevy was recruiting me to be on thier May 2005 issue (ls1 issue).. I got this job and joked that if PHR wanted my car they owed me a cover since I had it set with Super Chevy..

Well, we pick covers based on what looks the best more than the car.. best angle, lighting, background and what is best for inserting cover blurbs. After we shot my 69 Johnny was not happy with the location (March AFB).. too many trees and too cluttered. So, we went with the red firebird esprit on the cover, it was a better picture and even though I was dissapointed it was better for the magazine.

Johnny surprised me by putting my car on the sub-cover (what we call the subscription issues). After all the work it was sure nice to see it on there. So, that is three magazine features and two covers in my life so far. I am due for my next cover in 2024.. ;)

Also, it was weird writing the feature since I was writing about my own car. Usually when you write about someone elses car you "talk it up" and I felt stupid doing that in this case. I also figured it was a good time to sort of introduce myself to the readers. I hope it came out ok, I am sometimes hypercritical of my own work.

Anyways, thanks for the comment and as Paul Harvey says.. "and now you know the REST of the story."

I still like the 69 best! Wonder how many times it'll be "for sale" now that it's a cover car?!?

Didn't that car change hands several times on ebay and other online car sales sites. For a while there every time I came to the forum there was another "It's for sale again" thread...........I guess the new owners just didn't get the g-machine thing. Oh well.

Did they cash your check or bill you?

If not then most likely the USPS lost the little card.. send a new one in :)
