Here are some killer photographs taken of the Mule at Laguna Seca today. Nothing like seeing the most famous g-machine of all time take one of the most famous corners in the world. :hail:

Looks like a Blast!

I'd like to know how much weight is on the right front tire in those turns. Not much I'd bet.

It can't be. The photos must be fake. The Mule has a four link which is subject to the dreaded :goofy:  "Roll Bind". Surely the car would suddenly flip over and barrel roll eighteen times in the corkscrew? And that car has a C4 clip which everyone knows is one less better than a C5 clip and TWO less betterer than a C6 clip. :faint:

Oh, and it's a proven fact that the Mule NEVER sees track time.

Very cool! There must be some serious G-forces at play in the corkscrew

That's awesome. You couldn't have picked a better guy than Charley to own the Mule. Most people who buy cars like that keep them in a showroom surrounded by velvet ropes.

I actually tried to take a video but the remote on off controller I had clipped to the carpet kept coming loose. So there I am trying to navigate Laguna, grabbing the loose controller with one hand and driving with the other. I finally realize this is really stupid and dangerous, press one button hoping it will record but it didn't. By the afternoon session the tires were finally warming up to where they would stick and I was getting to know the track a little better.

You forgot, when those turbos spool up, it's going to swap ends immediately.

Hey Charley, how much boost.

clill
02-19-2008, 10:11 AM
I think about 8lbs boost. Trying not to look at the guage when it is coming on. You always look fast when there are fast cars in the pics. Doesn't mean that they didn't pass you a few seconds later.

Steve;
Thank God it didnt have air on it too..... that would have been triple bad! We all know that air suspensions are not any good for a roadcoarse :wow:

;) Right there with you. I can burn tires up but sometimes don't seem to get anywhere doing it hahaha.

BTW, forgot to mention, cool car. I have more than a few pics of it copied from the net to my pictures folder...

Wow, look at how much compression the rear suspension has in the corkscrew, contra (normal ride height?) at the straight under the Mazda sign. That's an indication of the g's in that corner. :unibrow:

Always imitated...

There can be only one. Charlie, I have said it before but it bears repeating. I was a nut and bolt, "love 'em the way the General built 'em" kinda numbskull.

UNTIL I saw the Mule. It (to me) is still the baddest mutha in the Valley.
