Welcome, Benny. Your city RULES!!! One of the best trips I ever did. I hooked up with the hottest girl I've ever been with when I was there. I swear she looked like Scarlett Johannsen.
Good times...good times.:captain:

I'm US Army. I lived in Germany for 4 1/2 years. My best friend and I visited Bratislava in March 2005 for 4 days. Just checking out the sights, gambling, goofin' around, and chasing girls.

Hi Scott, thanks for welcome :)
so lets talk about Eric's pics
first one is under the stairs to Tesco supermarket terrace in the centre
on the second one, is the statue of really famous man with sad story, who lived in our city. People called him "Schoner Naci" which means "Handsome Ignacius" but his real name was Ignac Lamar (11. 8. 1897 – 23. 10. 1967)
He was was locally famous for strolling the oldtown streets. He appears quite friendly and jolly, but he was actually somewhat disturbed because of a trauma he experienced.
Schone Nazi had a fiancee before German troops came in World War II, but the fiancee was deported to a Nazi Concentration Camp where she died. He never recovered mentally from this and he never married. He just strolled the streets and smiled on ladies and talked to people in the streets in three different languages, always elegantly dressed in tailcoat and top hat. He died completely forgotten. His grave can be found today in Lehnice [a small village halfway between Bratislava and Dunajska Streda, on highway 572].
on last one is the man called "Cumil", which mean something like "looking guy". I'm not sure, but i think he was a guerrilla leader fighting Soviet invasion. Some people explain it as having been hiding in the sewers while the city was bombed during World War II. Now the war's over, allowing him to come out of hiding, which explains his satisfied smile.
Other people say that he is just a normal guy who likes to look up the skirts of young ladies in Bratislava. ;)
and the added pic is a statue of napoleon soldier on the main square of oldtown around 200m next to "Schoner Naci"
And some facts:
Slovakia - 5 400 000 people on 49 035 square km
Bratislava is the capital with 450 000 people
Currency: slovak crown / will be euro from 1/1/2009
Organization membership: EU, NATO, OSN, UNESCO, OECD, OBSE, CERN, WHO, INTERPOL

love the choice of wheels... its either that or finding some vintage BBS 3 piece rims on ebay.de
most of the commodores here have meen butchered, many of them to use the front suspension in hot rods...
I bought an LS1 with tranny from florida and had it shipped over here, for far less money than i could ever find an Opel ecotec 3.0 24v .. just somthing to look into,.. (saab turbo engines also bolt up to the opel tranny btw :unibrow: )
oh and i almost forgot.. wellcome from copenhagen, Denmark.. by the way!

thanks Deuce
it was really hard to find a wheels in old style design, i tried to fit a Cragar Super Spoke wheels, but it cannot be done because of the construction of rear axle. Maybe if i will find a rear axle from commo/a for 5 bolts wheels...
are you sure, that 3.0 24v (c30se) is the Ecotec technology? i dont think so...
btw, i was a lucky man, cause I have bought a whole Opel Senator with c30se from the guy, who really didnt knew, what's under the hood :) He told me, that the car cannot start because of the broken engine. So i paid for whole car about 200€. The problem was blocked electronic control unit by broken water temperature sensor (10€)
