Quick question guys.
Right now I'm in the middle of rebuilding my entire trans tunnel (raised for reduced u-joint working angle & more driveshaft clearance.)
Anyways, I'm not going to be able to run my factory console anymore, so I'll just have my shifter poking up through the floor.
What's the ideal boot situation for this? I'd like a rubber boot to keep the fumes out but want something better looking (i.e. leather) over that. Just wondering what other people have done...
What I want is a final result similar to Mark's:

Thanks in advance...

I have asked same once and i know today its Lokar shifter boot . You can get one easily from summit etc. But its only the fake leather boot and trim ring. You still need good rubber boot on the trans tunnel to seal fumes and noise. I have seen orginal T56 / F body rubber boots fore sale in ebay ( in case you have T56 trans )
I have an old beater rubber boot that I plan on putting in the floor, then use this Lokar boot and ring.

I'm thinking I would have trouble using one of those and my Lokar boot with the round trim ring.

I am looking for a good solution as well (for the weather/noise sealing boot which will be underneath the Lokar "decorative" boot and trim ring)...

These guys seem to have some decent sealing rings...maybe I will give one of these a try. They are available through Summit.

I have bought few seals for them an i can say product and customer service is really good. But i dont think you find big enough for shifter body from them.

I found this one in AMC parts specialist. Looks quite low profile and round. Most of the aftermarker shifters have round body. But i have no idea of the real diameter. Mayby some one closer could give em a call and ask?

Scott,
I'm putting a 4l80E w/ Paddle shifters in mine. I want to avoid putting one of those goofy plastic boxes (B&M, Hurst) on my floor. I won't be running a console. I like the lokar boot you have in the pic. What shifter is under that boot? Is that AOD Billet knob Lokar too?
Thanks,
Rich
Rich, I'm running a T56. That pic that I posted is a generic picture that Lokar has on their website for the boot and trim ring that I have.
Here's a pic of it in my car. I was just trial fitting it, seeing how tall the boot is, etc.

I'm also running a Lokar trim ring and boot over the stock T56 rubber boot:
