Familiar with LSX Motors in DSE Subframes?

I own one but I am about 7000 miles away from it right now and I am trying to get some info to my motor builder on which pan to use.

I am aware that you can package a LS2/1/7 pan into it. I am trying to find out whether or not the 2007 Holden pan will fit as well.

The specs on the holden are attached. The holden holds an extra quart of oil over the LS1/2 pans and I would prefer to use it on my 7 liter set up.

The main physical difference is that the sump on the holden is 1 and 3/4 inched deeper than the LS1/2 pan. Can't remember if any of the sump on the LS1/2 pans are positioned over the DSE sub's crossmember.

In case it won't fit, any motor builders think 5.5 quarts might not be enough for 7 liters? Car won't be track driven but will see 7000 rpm most times it rolls out.

To clarify, I know the dimensions of the LS1/2/7 pans and the Holden pan. What I don't know is where the rear sump of a LS1/2 pan is positioned in relation to the DSE sub Crossmember.

If I could see a picture of a LS1/2's pan mounted in a DSE sub or better yet get some measurements of how much clearance there is between the crossmember and the LS1 or 2 pan, I could extrapolate the data between the pans and determine whether or not it would fit.

I sent DSE the info and they responded by telling me they haven't tested the 2007 Holden pan with their subframe.

Jim, I'm not sure how much room there is to work with in a DSE frame... but I made this layover comparing the LS1 vs the Holden pans just for better visual reference. It might help to identify problem areas.

Could you just ask from DSE ? They have one of the friendliest customer service i have ever dealt with.

DSE sent me another email with a pic of the clearance specs on a Champ pan.

The champ pan is 2inches deep up front and is level all the way back for 11 and 1/2 inches till it clears the crossmember, then it drops into the sump. The length of the holden from the front to the start of the sump is 10 and 3/4 inches. So the qustion is whether or not that 3/4 of an inch would cause the deeper Holden pan to strike the DSE sub crossmember.

The 2 inch drop on the Champ pan is very close to the power rack, so the holden will clear the rack but I still don't know if it's sump will clear the DSE crossmember.

Anyone have a pic of a LS1 pan's sump mounted in their DSE sub?

Money for a different pump, DS pan, lines, tank, etc. Yeah, that would be cost effective......you must work for the government.

Decided to stick with the C6 pan.
