Gots me a new project! I bought it off of DDY RCKT on here and must say, he's a top notch guy! Gave me a killer deal and he even delivered it for me!
My current plans are to fix some minor things and then drive it while I finish the Patriot Dream car. Once the guy comes and gives me the rest of the cash for my Bandit in a few weeks, I'm going to be buying a set of 15x8.5 Torque Thrust Ds to drive around on for the time being, and then redoing the exhaust with some shorties and 3" true duals out the back (currently longtubes and pipes out the side = loud and too low) and replacing the floorboards, then I'm gonna just enjoy driving it.
So, here are the pics! I'll try and get some more this week after I get it registered and legal.

And a little video with the exhaust leak and carb that needs rebuilding

I dare you to fix up the interior and leave the rest as is. That car represents the Zenith of 70's design. The dash is the best part. Looks like a NASA engineer thought that up. I have always liked that car. Being from Northern Illinois (Close to Kenosha) that car is in my DNA, mullet and all.

Bryan.....that thing is BadA$$! Love the token Keystones. Every time I see one they have those. Too bad it's not that gold color with drab green interior.

We need a poll. How many of us actually agree on something for a change?
I think it's funny as hell that we all say "Love IT"
Get it running and rock that sucker like it is!!

You should change those seats out for a milk crate first though... Like a real AMC.

It already runs and drives! There are a few minor things I need to do to it before I drive it a lot, but right now it is a driver. I hope to have the seatbelts back in it and the headlights working this week, then I'm gonna have to put a better starter in it. Last weekend I drove it to the car wash and the starter gave up on me. Had to get two guys to help me push start it.

Oh man, you guys are making me feel sad again. I had that car for about 7 years! I just couldn't find the time to track down the pieces and parts with my job schedule, which is the reason for my 2nd Gen Camaro. Jegs has most of the stuff, and I can have it in two days.
The 74 AMX is one of my all time favorite cars, the shape is as alluring as they come. One day I'm going to buy it back, after he's got it all fixed up. :unibrow:
I'm just happy to have been able to find it a home that will appreciate it.
The seats, BTW, are some "racing seats" I found on Ebay, and fabricated up some seat rails to mount them in the car. The original seats were so rotten and broken, they couldn't be salvaged, unfortunately.
Man, I'm going to miss that car. But I'm so happy I get to watch the progess here on :lateral:

Oh, yeah, I'm pretty sure the passenger side header needs to be tightened... :willy:

No it doesn't. I start the car up and sit in it with the windows rolled up after work to help relax. :unibrow:

Well, the starter gave up the ghost. I was hoping it would last till the end of March when I did the exhaust, but today it died.
Had to roll start it a couple of times when I took it out, but now it barely turns, definitely bound up starter.
Luckily they are cheap, gonna go grab one tomorrow and stick it on this biatch.
My best friend also nicknamed the car. We now call it the Grape Ape.

That starter was one of the parts I replaced.
It was $15 when I bought it at Advance Auto!

Yeah, I noticed it turned slow when I got the car from you, but I've been driving it a bunch and it has gotten worse and worse. I think the starter isn't strong enough to turn the built engine in the car, like there is too much compression. The car fires right up when you roll start it, so I'm going to try a mini starter with a 4:1 ratio and see what happens. :unibrow:
Anyone want to buy and almost-new starter for $15? :P

Great car! The Javelin was "THE" best AMC car they made. It's really cool you are working with one.
It sounded great, purred like a wood chipping machine. (I'm just kidding)
Thanks for posting it.
