Got a 1949 1/2ton truck that I am thinking about building. I would like to keep the cost down somewhat. Most likely keep the body stock other than some smoothing here and there. But, I want it to have that PT look and feel.
Without robbing too much money from another project going, what would be a averaged priced suspension package? I like the idea of air ride, or c4 and 3 link. The motor of choice will most likely be a 393sbf. I want this to be a fun project that I can drive anywhere. What do you guys think.

Something similar to this:

Travis that would be a very cool project! Of course working with AME on a full chassis would probably be best...but there are options if you want to keep the money down a little. You could do a Tri-angulated 4-bar out back for not too much investment...not sure what I would do up front though...perhaps C4 based?

All in all I think you have a great plan in the works!

No, I enjoy the Studebaker pickups as well. Would like to do one myself but my wife wants a 50ish chevy. That would be a cool project hope to see it happen.
