I figured I'd put an update thread in, we've been having some fun in electrical recently and perhaps the rest of the gang would have some interest.

My car is very much a driver, and 100% homebuilt. She comes down every winter for more improvements. This year, EFI and a 100 HP boost top the list. The entire top end of my 383 was removed and sold off, and replaced with a Lunati VooDoo Hydraulic roller cam and lifters, and AFR 195 heads with upgraded springs and titanium retainers. I scored a complete Holley C950 TBI system for a meesly 700 bones!

So, here's that so often empty engine bay:

One area I could really use some help and suggestions with is that eyesore of a factory wiper motor. I do need functional wipers, she spends enough time on the road that getting caught in the rain is a real possibility. I'd also like to keep the factory switch. If anyone has an idea for something that will fill that hole, make the wipers move, and use the factory switch, please post up?

Here's a few shot of the engine. She's a 383 stroker built in my original #'s matching 327 block, and I expect 450-500HP at the crank this year. I also expect her to take me anywhere and get me home, and to start, run, and idle as well as a stocker. A trip to yellowstone is on the agenda for July.

I wanted "something different" for an intake. I scored an old TM1 Tarantula on ebay, and sent it out to be Permastar coated. It looks pretty sharp, and hopefully will work well with the TBI and new heads and cam.

This last pic is from last years Midwest Camaro Show in KC, and yes, I drove her there, and got caught in the rain once, too.
I'm looking for suggestions / comments on valve covers, too. I used to run repro Z/28 covers, but the baffles are too wide to clear the new pro magnum rockers! Those things were just to expensive to trash trying to fit a 10 lb bag in a 5 lb hole, so for now these ole M/T's are keeping the dust out. I do kinda like the "period" look of the M/T's, but any alternate suggestions are welcome.

that is the best option but eliminates the factory switch and knob that he wants to keep. I'd still use it and adapt the factory knob to their switch, cannot be that hard to do.

Great looking car Jim.

Here's an update. Engine is back in the car and the details are almost complete. Hope to fire her up next weekend.

I modified an 85 S10 wiper motor, and it works great using the stock switch.
DSE don't get my $300 this time!

I was after a "period hot rod" look in a modern 500 HP roller cammed injected 383. I think I succeeded.

My favorite part of Jim's car is he does everything himself and post threads on all his projects on the car so others can see and learn.

Thanks Jim!

Nice rag top! I dig that color. Is it Lemans?

I have been tracking your write ups on the bulk head conntectors. Thanks for the updates.

I wonder if we could get John at Speartech to start offering those as an option, like he does the extra length harness?

Fired the 383 with the new EFI system yesterday, got her running pretty good today. Still some glitches to work thru and a lot of needed tuning but man she sounds Suweet!

I dunno about the sound, been told it don't work, but you can see her if you like Garage cam (http://71.194.154.8:12000/)

Camera is remote control PTZ with sound, but people tell me they don't get sound. I do watching it locally.
