Hey all! Hey guys, I've got a set of wheels I want to put on my 02 Z06, and they're not stock size, so the tire size issue is once again going to be asked.

The new wheels are 18 x 8.5 in the Front and 19 x 10 in the rear.

Stock tire size is 265/40/17 front, 17x 9.5 wheel and 295/35/18 rear, 18x10.5 wheel.

So what tire width/aspect will keep me closest to stock, and still fit on the rim, and not be impossible to find. I feel like I can use a 295/30/19 on the rear just fine.

Can I use a 265/35/18 on the 8.5" fronts? Or do I need to step down to a 255/40/18?

255-35-18

It maintains better overall height to prevent throwing your speedo too off and maintains almost identical side wall heights to your rear 295-30-19.

255-40-18 is too tall ( 0.68 inches taller)...

... and 265-35-18 may be a little too wide since you are going from a 9.5 width to a 8.5 width up front.

Lets see some pics when you get'em!

Thanks, John! I'll definately have some pics up. They're really sweet wheels, too. GM Prototype wheels that may be the only set like them in existence. Probably no more than 5 sets, if more than just the one were commissioned.

How far do you think it'll throw my speedo off?

Not much at all (less than 1 mph) IF you use 255-35-18...:D

And when in doubt use the tire size calculator!

but the size is the same as for a C6 vette. 8.5x18 on front and 10x19 on rear.

The stock tires for a C6 are 245/35/18 and 285/30/19 rear.

Would you like to part with those? My 69 is running a set of C6 rims and tires and those would bolt right up...assuming they are prototype for the C6.

I know a C6 back spacing for the rear is different on a C5 as compared to a C6...

Did I mention that I would really like to have those on my car?

My wheels!!! :captain:

Can I go with the 255F and 295R, you think? The tires I want, I can't get in a 285, so I kind o fneed the 295. I can run the 245 in the front, but if the 255 will work, I'd prefer those.

but the Goodyears fit perfectly on the rims. I know that when Rupp changed brand of tires on Penny a 255 in one tire was the same width as another brands 275. That was on an 18 rim and the aspect ratio remained the same.

You may want to compare tread and bulge widths between the brand of tires you want and the Goodyears that come stock on a Vette. They may be the same size.

I am diggin' your rims.

Have you test fit just the rims on the car without tires to check for clearance?

Haven't checked yet, no. I actually haven't gotten them, but I do know they fit. The gent I bought them from had them fitted.

I was thinking of going with BFG KDW2's, I had these on my MINI and loved them. But I want to try the Vredestein Sessanta's. The Z06 guys seem to love them.
