Does anyone know a good tutorial on repairing GM A-body Rear window channel rust repair? (The one above the trunk opening)
A website would be awesome. Thanks.

While I don't have step by step info (because I still need to do it on my car)... I will tell you it's a VERY good idea to install drain tubes into the lower corners while you have it apart. Silver solder or epoxy in some stubs of stainless tubing in the lowest parts of the window channel corners and then run vinyl tubing or hose down from those stubs and out the trunk floor behind the wheels. That way any water in the window channel can drain away rather than collect and starting rot.

The best tool for this job is a shrinker/ strecher a couple of companys make them there not cheap but its the best tool for making the contours you can bend a 1" 90 degree in some sheetmetal and by shrinking or strechting you can make almost any dog leg or window channel its on of my most used tools in my shop. Eastwood sells them and probably has books or info or google ron covell he's the best and sells tools and has books etc. www.covell.biz
We're about to repair this part on our '71 Olds... we're waiting for the car to come back from the blaster to see how much we need to repair. On the Olds, it is an easy panel to replace from a rust-free car if the damage is too extensive to fix.

thanks for all the info guys. I thought a stretcher shrinker would be perfect for this job but don't know if it would be wise to buy them for just this job.
The drain tubes is a great idea and one I thought about doing after putting a nice coating of POR-15 along the channel.
Here is a pic of the damage luckily it is constrained to just the areas covered by rubber and doesn't extend into more visible or harder to replace areas.
