I am not a big fan of the underside of the plain 2" cowl hoods.
What do you guys do to smooth the underside of the hood? I was thinking of fabricating up a thin sheet of metal to underside, but I haven't got a chance to look at my hood to see.
I have seen some hoods that are smooth, but I wasn't sure how they did it.
Has anyone done this or have any pictures?

It's a pretty easy think to do. Make a few patterns of under the hood.Make them out of sheet metal weld it to the hood ...do a little bodywork and paint

Travis,
ya, post some pics up of that thing if you don't mind. I wasn't sure if I should cut out the existing stuff or just lay sheet metal over it.
Thanks, Andrew
on a side note: finally getting the camaro painted. I am doing some trade out work w/ my other 67 RS with a guy in exhange for his booth and help.

You can smooth the hood both ways but if you havn't done it before I would be carefull when you cut the inside hood out it's going to be weak and want to twist .
Then you can make the underside panel....fit it ...check it... start welding it and keep checking it on the car as your welding
If your not use to doing this kind of work - It's going to be alot of work for you
Depending on your fabrication skills Its alot easyer to cut some metal and smooth out the underside thats there
Just an opinion
