Just thought I would show some progress pics of the car I was trying to sell a few months ago. Glad I didn't get any serious takers. My good friend is almost finished with the rear end work, he was a good set of eyes. He works in the NASCAR industry as a fabricator, and was able to keep stock width frame rails for the use of stock fuel tank. Also I hope the roll cage will be hard to see at a glance as well. Give me some feed back and I will continue to post more pictures as well. This was a clas project for my Auto Tech students at my other school. I had to switch schools due to budget cuts and almost sold everything, but my new student are "GREAT" and are eagar to build this thing to the end as long as my money holds out.
Thanks,
Mike

Definitely keep us posted, Mike. It's cool that you're teaching these kids the "right" kind of car to be into.

Here's one more:

Thanks Bill for getting those pictures right size for me. You'll have to pm me and tell me how to do it so I can show the pics of the LS1 set in between the rails.
Thanks again.

Just thought I'd ask, does anyone have any experience with KORE brake brackets? I am looking at them as well as Speed Tech's brake brackets. We have C5 front brakes but wondering about the abutment mounting brackets.

Any info on this would help out bunches!!

Thanks,
Mike

Man, I hope mine comes out this nice  ! Thanks for the pics :D !!!

I'm looking for some mini tubs also so I can fit 18x10's underneath. Who else makes mini tubs other than Detroit speed (kinda pricey) ?

juveteach
03-20-2008, 05:55 AM
DAZ,
Made mine. I had to go this big someone else started a back half on this car and had the big tubs already on one side then stopped. If you are handy with a cutoff wheel, then just cut your oem and add metal to em' and make them as wide as you want just remember the frame rails you'll have to move them or cut them.

That's a cool idea ! I'm glad you said that cause I was thinking that exact same thing on my way into work today ! I saw a picture where someone just move his frame rails closer inboard along side of his tubs. What's the danger of cutting them ? I probably won't do that especailly since I'm adding frame connectors, I want the rigidity(is that a word?), so the car can actaully handle in real, real life !

Once I get my C4 IRS kit from KaptainKw I'll post before and after pics.

Man, I wish I could fabricate ! I gotta get my buddy at work to do all the work cause I can't afford to get a shop to do it cause I'm poor :( !

Oh well ! Thanks for the help, I deeply appreciate it  !
