I just bought a new (to me) car!!!
Basically, I've been waiting my whole life for this moment, and now it's here! After dealing with a shady dealer that looked reputable, I managed to salvage victory from the ashes of my crushed soul. This is the car I've bought!

It's a 2002 Z06, 81K miles, but I personally know the owner, and everything he has is in immaculate condition. He's selling the Z because he bought a Viper GTS. He made me a deal I simply could not refuse on this car, and I'm more than happy with the purchase!
I couldn't be happier about getting screwed by a dealership!

I may have spoken too soon. The Stealership is tacking on an unexplainable amount of fees that make the deal go bye bye. I'll update in a bit. :(

Don't let the dealer screw you. C5 corvettes are not exactly hard to find. Alot are just weekend drivers owned by old farts that change the oil every 500 miles. Thats who I bought mine from and it was a brand new car basically.

It was very shady, and they lost a sale over it. I've update the original post with what I really sent a check out for!

Cool deal Will. Looks like you came up with a better deal anyway. We'll have to go for a cruise when the weather gets better.

Well, the break down is really hard to make out, but it came to something like this.
The ad was put up at $17K, which was a great price on a one owner, low miles FRC. When I got the original buyers order, the price was dern near $23K with some service agreement, and five $400-$500 chargers tacked on with no explanation, and the base price had risen to $18K. I called to get it corrected, and the second buyers order came down to about $20K. Called again, and they set the final price just a bit shy of $19K with different fees that weren't explained, and general BS. I wasn't going to deal with a place that tried to sham me like that.
