on my project 68 firebird , i am doing a refresh on the interior and motor compartment and detailing the body and replacing the vinal top ...anyway...

ive been recovering the seats this weekend and all is well till i did the passenger bottom seat........guess what.........:unibrow: i found the original build sheet under there and it is a bit ripped and some is still stuck to the frame but it is legible enough to get some info on it and as well as the correct vin number on my tag on the dash ...

too bad this isnt my keeper car but im sure the next owner down the road will enjoy it and it is a little history .

ive been threw these cars plenty of times and ive only found them a couple times and they were in the rear seat spring area (backseat) and i hear they also put it ontop of the fuel tank as well

anyway i hope i didnt bor you but i was thrilled to get this paper

Was it just tucked in the spring bed where you could see it when you turned the seat over? This is the first I've heard of one tucked under the pass seat! I'd better check mine!!

Nice thing about Pontiacs is the information wasn't lost like Chevy. You can contact PHS and for $100 or so they can get you the build documentation for any vin.

I seriously did find a little bottle of heat-activated personal lube in my '69 when I re-did her.

No such luck on the build sheets though...Norwood cars.:(

I found the build sheet to one of the Chargers that donated her parts to the cause. when you think about it, it's pretty neat to think that you hold a sheet of paper that hasn't been handled in 40 years or so.
