Can anyone tell me whats the factory seam gap on the rear deck lid. mine seems to be pretty wide, maybe its a aftermarket lid (its approx. 7/16) looking for advise to seeing if i should look for new deck lid or build it up in metal for smaller reveal

Factory gap measurment is irrelevant at this point. If you think it's to wide, it's to wide.

Did someone put a quarter on it?

If you can keep everythimg symetrical, ad metal to the edge of the deck.

Factory gaps are stated as 3/16. But as Mark said if you think they are to big than I would add metal to the edge of the lid. I've got a 69 that I will be starting on next week and the trunk is a org GM but even at 3/16 that's still to big for me:unibrow:

Thanks guys for checking in on this. Ironically when i went to the shop thats prepping some body work for me they had a 1969 Dick Herral camaro that was in Camaro Performer mag. This thing was stunning and as you have stated the gaps were 3/16. I snap some photos the next time im there.
thanks dave

Do Not add to the lid, add to the Quarter trunk jam. Much more sturdy. We have had to weld 1/8 shim material along the edge on some repo quarter / deck lid jobs

Try finding a good used deck lid. I have seen several aftermarket lids that are just too small literally.

Thanks Frank
I guess I put my foot in my mouth. When i asked dave at Perfection what he was going to do. He gave me the same answer. I guess its not the lid its the guy who hung the new quarters 10yrs ago. I dont think Im going to #$%@ at my dad, I want to be left in the will LOL
