Looking forward to another great show. I am going with my friend in his '29 track roadster. I know it is not a g-machine, however, my buddy Jeff built 90% of the car himself. I figured this group would appreciate the craftsmanship! He was involved in every aspect of professional racing at one point or another (won Indy in '86 with Rahal) and ended his career as a co-owner of the Tasman motorsports Champ-car team. The car has a Brookville body, but Jeff machined/fabbed everything else including the hood. The nose is carbon fiber, the frame was fabbed from box tube and hand bent the old school way with a torch and a bunch of wet towels.

Jeff designed and helped me build the frame that I am running on my 69 camaro convt.

More of Jeff's car can be seen at:

I met Jeff Trush a couple of years ago at this show as well as Steilow and Kyle. I look forward to meeting more!

That's a great car, and you're right, there are a lot of people here that can appreciate the craftsmanship in building a car like that.

I am planning on being there. Going to be a long haul with a fresh restification from Florida to Ohio with my wife and one year old.

Steve...I really hope I get to meet you there. Your 69 was a big inspiration for me. I would like to show you my car in person and get your thoughts on who/what/where how I could maybe get some magazine exposure.

See you guys there......

Nope, not the Vette. Going to bring my 69 Camaro.

Check out this link and follow it to the bottom. There is a new link at each bottom to the current pictures. I have poured my guts out into this thing over the last year. It has been an emotional and financially draining process. I think the car and the story behind it is magazine material. I would love to honor my dad with a shot at perserving it forever in a magazine.

All I can say is WOW!

Rolled into the expo center yesterday. When they say 6,000 cars...they mean it! I have seen some of the most amazing rides. Just sitting in the main gate area and watching them drive in is a treat.

More later.

Well, I am done. Just got back, having all the fun I care to have.

There was considerable confusion this morning. I tried to get my car parked in the Homebuilt Heaven area but was directed to turn out of that area into another lot. When I went to find an official to help me I got a bunch of blank stares and "Uh.... I don't knows" from the guys. I finally found one guy to direct me to a tent that told me they were all mixed up and had cars in the wrong areas and to do the best I could.

Anyway, it was really mass confusion, so I just decided to hang out. Lots of beautiful cars and some really nice folks from around the country.

I saw Chip Foose. I saw a bunch of cars from magazine articles, and a few that will be there soon.

Took lots of pics but will have to wait until I can get back to Florida and get my computer online again before I upload.

When I drove in on Saturday they split me to the left as I went through the main gate. They did not have the parking lots labled on the EXIT road. I drove around for a few, then parked in what I thought was Homebuilt. I went on foot looking. There was massive confusion on the part of the staff. I finally found the tent in the homebuilt area, got my t-shirt and widow paper. Went looking for a parking spot but it was full. I decided to leave my car where it was and just walk around.

I was parked in the back of the Fun Run area next to the Exit road with the car facing the main drag.

To be honest, I was not impressed at all by the organization and communication efforts by the staff present on the ground. Very frustrating on my end. Sorry I didn't see you there. I did walk the homebuilt area. I remember a super cool pro-street style silver Nova facing the main entrance road. That car was pretty slick.

I never did figure out what all those other parking designations were behind the homebuilt heaven line. There was the duece line, Drive your 55, and one other one with a mix match of stuff parked here and there.

Yeah, it did seem a little disorganized this year. It think there to the point were there are just to many cars.

I agree on the first two (we are gonna shoot the second one).. but the third one I find awful.. too gaudy.. maybe with some different wheels and steering wheel, I just don't dig the flame shaped billet stuff. It is like 1980 all over again..

Jody and I checked out the 2nd one on the Power Tour. Frieburger and Kinaan stopped by to check it out, too, but David wasn't overly excited about it because it had sticker tires on it the whole week.

It had a nice color combination.

He didn't like it cause it had "sticker" tires??? you lost me there :willy:

That car was beautiful and looked like it would handle well to boot.. I think it has a full chassis..

It was trailered from event to event, had zero miles on it, and he was apprehensive about that. I read some of the threads on the HotRod.com Forums about people trailering cars on the Tour, so I know why they were discussing that - some of those people went ballistic about it! lol

Tom (RadRambler), Chris (69MyWay), Jody and I looked the car over at the Tallahassee stop when they were looking at it. It was a cool color, the fit and finish was fantastic, and the thing was seriously in the weeds.

The tires still had the stickers on them at G-G this last weekend. Looked like zero miles still.

These other two camaros were pretty hot. The black/orange color combo was VERY strong on the one car. You had to either hate it or love it, there is no middle ground. He also used the Australian style engine cover from the Holden.

LOL! I agree 100%.

That black one had super slick paint on it, .
