What do you guys think of a Z51 Corvette setup for my 69 Camaro not sure what wheels I will use yet . I have a 9" rear with big bearings old style in it ,and I want a parking brake. I would love the C6 Z06 14" but the price is quite high. I have someone who will make the brackets for me .The car would be 95% street driven. Do you think the extra cash for the C6 Z06 brakes is wort it? I have the money to buy the Z06 setup but if I use the Z51 I could buy some ATS tall spindles with the savings . Please let me hear your thoughts
Thank you Wayne

wayne,
go with the z51 for sure, its not the most bling but works so damn good, the z 51 is a 13.5 front rotor and 13 rear rotor using the c5 2 piston front, single piston rear calipers, they will fill up your wheels, but am not sure if they will fit 17 inch wheels, pretty sure your gonna need 18s min.
brackets for the front are easy to get as well as the rear
goodluck

if you go to kore3.com they have a wheel fitment page for the z51 rotors that you can print out and yes you will need a 18in wheel for the z51 rotors.

I think it would be hard to use those rear calipers/rotors on that 9" and get the e-brake to work. Those use an inside the rotors brake system.

An 93-97 LT1 Camaro rear calilper would be easier to use and set up the ebrake. As it just uses a lever to pull the caliper shut.

I took your advice and just bought the Z51 calipers rotors pads abutments and brake lines from EBay. They came from a brand new C6 with 17 miles which is getting the Z06 package.
I was dying to get the Z06 setup bu couldn't justify the price on my budget .I had been looking at the Z51 setup, but was having trouble giving up on those big red calipers. Your reply was what I needed to get me moving, Thank you .
I guess I was in a buying mood I also bought a center section for my Fab 9, I got a pro nodular case pro an Auburn pro posi unit aluminum Datona pinion suport 3:50 pro street gears 31 spline axles and 1350 yoke. WOW I"M UP FOR THE NIGHT!!!!! God I love this hobby! Wayne

Am I the only one that doesn't want Corvette written on my Camaro?

I agree. That would have to come off.

Try it on a Porsche and see if you don't get slapped .....

I thought about grinding it down and polish or paint them.

Maybe I should try a Porsche caliper and save myself the grief.
