Jimmy shine has a good future as a host. I like his style. I'll be at SEMA next year hanging off of Schwartz's coat tails...

That was just bad!! Like his show but kind of showed a bunch of nothing.
All the attention SEMA gets and I think I have seen pics of maybe 2 new parts. Where are all the new innovative parts??? It is becoming just what it isn't supposed to be, a car show for the general public.

There was an incredible amount of new and innovative products there again this year. The issue that I see is that the show is so diverse - everything from new truck bed tollboxes to piston coatings - that it just gets overwhelming. I only look at what interests me, and I'm sure that's what the producers of that show did as well. There's no way humanly possible to show all the new, innovative products in a 1 hour TV show.
With that said, I didn't see that show last night. Did Jimmy Shine do his "tough guy" thing for the camera? Is that show Hard Shine still in TV? I only watched half of one episode...

I agree with Scott, but they do need to get the General public out of there, I have been doing SEMA for almost 15 years and the reason you go is to get new products. Everything else has just been blown way out of context.
The show is suppose to be for new products for the industry, do we really need 500+ cars out front that all look the same. I think there was only a handfull of cool new cars there most were there last year
We go to get dealers and find new products for our shop but most of the people that stop by the booth waist your time when you could have someone in there wantiing to talk to you about buying parts. to many looky loos now.
The next few years will determin how the SEMA show will last, at the rate its going most people wont be able to afford to go. Every year the guys that run SEMA get worse and worse as we got stuck out in the tents this year with over 8 years seniority. We should have been in Hot Rod Alley were we have been for years. They need to fix the way they treat the vendors for what they charge to have a booth.

Chris, I though the tent was only for first timers? At least that's what Stacy Tucker was telling me. I had no idea you had been there for 8 yrs now.

Yeah tell me about it, I have been going to SEMA for ever and had a booth for the last eight years. We put in for our booth and they lost the papers so they say and bumped us out. We worked and worked with them to get back inside and they promised that they would. We waited and waited and didnt want to pay untill we knew we were going inside. They told us not to worry about it that we would be inside and that we had to pay. We did so we didnt lose the spot and they waited till after you can cancel to keep us in the tents. NICE
I tell you being out there sucked so bad and is not worth going if you are going to be out there. You might get a few people that are looking for you but you miss alot. We had tons of people asking us why we didnt go and bring the cars we had there.
We complained about it so hopefully next year they take care of us.

I've been wanting to do SEMA for years now, but the more I hear about it the more it sounds like something that wouldn't interest me. If I wanna hear about new products I'll just pull up this message board or PT.Com. As far as seeing cool cars....hell I've seen enough cool cars. Car shows are startin' to wear thin with me. I will still go one of these years but I'll only be there to attend the Lat-G and PT.com dinners. The rest of the time I'll be at the blackjack tables or at Spearmint Rhino eyein' skank. I ain't in the industry so I have no business being there anyway.
