Yesterday At 3:40 pm I became a very proud Grandpa. Keep in mind that I just turned 29 four months ago, so this came as a slight shock to me.

I feel like I have to drive extra slow with my turn signal on in the left lane, tell stories about 'back in the day, when I was your age' and leave my teeth in a glass by the sink.

Here is the picture you all knew was coming:

So, now that the joke is up here is the skinny-

We have been looking for a project car to build for our company showcase of products and we had purchased a sweet rust-free rolling 67 Camaro shell earlier this year. Being impatient, i had to have a car that I could drive while upgrading, and a rolling shell wouldn't allow that. I kept looking for a decent running project that we could modify as we drove it and finally came across this above 68. The car is a survivor car from the days of old. It is not an SS like the badging suggests, but it does have a 350/power glide, a sweet bench seat (this first one I've ever seen in person) white wall tires, dog dish hub caps, and one hell of a straight rust free body. I purchased it for $8500 and it drives fantastic. We drove it from the Newport Beach area to Las Vegas without a single issue.

Plans are to document the entire build process as we go with excel spreadsheets for part numbers, video and still pictures of the install, a write up of all the things we had to do including all tools and time, and then document the performance afterwards with some tests.

We are awaiting the track to open so we can do our baseline 1/4 mile, 60-0 braking, and slalom course.

Cheap 1st gens are still out there!!!

Nice find Tyler! I would kill to find something like that for $8500. Going back to my roots of a 68 Camaro for the next project!! I know it's a 67 but what's a couple of wing wondows?

My guess is all ATS products and a L-D 3-link...not as hardcore as 50/50.

Hey Buddy, watch the grandpa jokes!!!:unibrow: It's REAL hard to drive the LS7 slow, I still have my teeth, but I do plead guilty of telling my kids the back in the day stories:lol:
Congrats on the find by the way. Very Cool.

Congrats Tyler.

Just stay away from Orlando ... we have enough seniors driving slowly here.
