I have been mocking up my 350 in a aftermarket frame and have been having a hell of a time with fitment.( I think thats word).
1. Stock oil pan hits rack/pinion
2. Harmonic balancer 6 3/4in. sits on top of rack/pinion, barely clears

So, I've spent a ton of time tring to add spacers to motor, shim the rack out a little and have got things to clear. It just seems that things should be fitting a little better?

My question is, are the mounting points on a frame symetrical, I mean is the L/R both the same. Does a SB 350 have the same mounting point on both sides of the motor? It looks the same to me, using crude measurements.

My frame looks like the passenger side mounting points/holes are about 1/4 inch lowwer.

It seem's to me that if the passenger side was a little higher then I would benefit by raising the motor and obtaining more clearance.

Posting the brand of frame will help. If it won't fit a 350 either the frame manufacturer is in big trouble or you have the wrong mounts.

I'm going to take that as both sides should be the same. Thanks, I did'nt post the frame name because I'm still trying to make things fit. Let's put it this way, no one likes the the company my frame came from on this forum or the other forum. It was like betting on a hand of black jack when I bought it. I lost but I got a frame I got to make work. Thanks for the reply, I'm learning alot from this forum.

One last thing, sorry did'nt put it on the last post. It came with the wrong mounts? Oh yeh, that was the very first part my challenge. I could'nt figure out why my bell housing was hitting the firewall. I got sent BB frame mounts and thought they were the right ones. LOL

I should have known I need to toss the mounts that came with the frame and use camaro sb mounts. I guess?

that sucks but thats what happen with second hand stuff...who knows maybe they had the frame drill for a modern motor? Have you called Martz yet? Maybe they can email you a template. They are very helpfull that way.

Hey whats going, on I didn't see you at the car show? My frame came from a different company. I'm working on getting my rack/pinion lined up now. I oblonged the frame mount holes so I hope it will help raise the motor a little bit.
