I will bet there would be a mark up more in the neighborhood of $20k... ZO6 Vetts were seeing 25-35K... I can't stand dealers:willy:

ADM's are going to be a sure thing, the only question is how much? Each dealer will bump it up as much as their respective market can bear and then some.

Take it from a person who knows, $25k - $50K on 2005 Ford GT when it premiered. The 2007 Shelby GT was $15K down to $10K over sticker even recently. All the 2008 Challengers are likely spoken for and ripe for a premium resale. :(

My buddy owns a Dodge dealer and he told me they are only making 3800 of the 08 Challenger SRT8 cars which is what they released pricing for. That means only about 1 car per delaership except a few large dealers will get a second. These cars will come out in spring of 08.
Then by late 08 the 09 Challengers will be available and they will have much larger production numbers and will also offer other base models along side the SRT8 car.
Here in SoCal they are auctioning the cars at 2 of the local dealers and the other is expecting to get 30k over sticker!

Paying over list for a car that is just going to depreciate. :wow:

Don't forget the $2100 "gas guzzler" tax...

So before the mark-ups it will be $40,000...

Hey, that's only $10 a pound..

Paying $30k over sticker is akin to a "tax on stupid people".. lol

I have two on order. They are only coming in three colors for the 2008 SRT8 model, Hemi Orange, Black and Silver.

Steve,

I have been a diehard GM guy all of my life and I would say that out of all of the cars that I have collected over the years, 99.9% of them have been GM products. Yes, I do like the artists rendering that you posted and do think a LS7 would be a great car and would probably buy one, but it doesn't look like they will be out for at least another year or more.

While I have owned several Mopars, I have never owned a Challenger before. These will be my first two ever. A good friend of mine has a 49k mile original paint matching number 1971 Hemi 4 speed RT/SE in Plum Crazy Purple with a white vinyl top that he bought from the original lady owner in 1972 and I have to tell you, it is one sweet car. I believe the new one will be pretty nice too and at least give me something else to play with until the Camaros make it into the market.

The general concensus over at the Supercar site seems to be that those diehard Supercar Guys like the Challenger more than the Camaro. Check out the following two links to see what they have to say about it.

While we all have our own opinions, I will say for the record that I really like both. After driving both, I will obviously be in a better position to make a final judgement on that. Thanks for the pic!

I like both.. I like the Camaro more.

The main problems I have with the challenger is the weight and the price for the upper model (and no six-speed.. and a gas guzzler tax)...

I still think it's cool though.

I really didn't think the pricing was that bad all things considered, but a six speed would definitely be the ticket!!:D :D
