Ok so I drove the Camaro out to the local airport and did a little photoshoot.

Well, almost! I really just drove my mouse around and made all of this in the computer. I thought it turned out pretty cool so I thought I would post here.

Truly amazing.I should really try and get back into 3D design you have so much more control of environments.

looks very nice - any chance there is a 2nd gen camaro at the airport that you could rent.

Thanks guys! I will have more scenes/scenarios in the future. I now have this one set up, so I can add any car that we have modeled.

liked the coupe better, hence why I have one. After seeing that rendering I can feel a convertible in my future.

Thanks for the inspiration...love what you did with the windshield surround!
I have a new screen saver as well.( it is not sized right) Anyway, could I get one to use as a screen saver?

I love all of your work by the way.

Scott likes the blue one...yea right

Looks killer, Carter - I personally dig Jody's new rendering the best.

I wish I had a faster machine for my lightwave stuff... rendering environments in reflections takes forever.

Those are composited, no? Can you render the composited image as a reflection?

And yes, we have to hook up for a beers soon... you around this weekend?

Kevin, at 1500x750 dpi it took less than 4 minutes to render. No this is not a composite this is straight render. I used photoshop to put the logo on that was it. I will be around this weekend, you got my card with the cell?

Thanks again guys for the awesome responses.

It looks great. Yeah, my machine is probably around that speed... I keep thinking animation. I probably render a single frame that quickly, but my mind usually estimates a 30-40 second render at 29.97 fps, and then it takes all night.

I'll give you a call tomorrow!

Carter, I think there's a way to import an image and save it as a mappable reflection if you wanted to take it to that level of realism. I can do it in Alias but I don't know if it's the same procedure you can use in your software.

Of course, you can do the reflection in PS and play with the opacity until you get the same effect.
