My name's Mike, I'm 16, I'm new to the site. I just bought my first car, its a shell of a '68 Camaro. Got it fairly cheap, planning to install mini tubs and the DSE speed kit 2. I want to keep it budget seeing as I am still in high school. Just hoping to stick around for awhile and get some info from guys that have been doing this for awhile. I'll post pics of the car tonight, i only have the ones from the junkyard where I bought it.

Not many guys your age driving around in 68 Camaros. I suppose your just ahead of the norm.

First of all WELCOME!!

That looks like my car a few years ago!! Get everything you wont use stripped off and then pressure wash the car real good before doing anything else...I didn't do this and should have! Then strip the paint and see what you have to work with. The car will look better in a uniform metal finish and you won't be able to not work on it as you will be sooo excited! Have fun with it!

wow.. not sure i would touch it... not unless i had plans that didnt involve having to re-aquire the factory GM parts now missing... so if its an all out PT car, i guess its quite a find... i mean a morrison chassis will save you tonnes of headaches on that thing.... then all you need ir to replace cosmetic sheetmetal and do everything to your own likes and wants....

My biggest advice to you is do it right the first time around. Take your time, save up, and get exactly what you want.

I've got a pic of the cowl, but I'm at school right now, in history class...so ill get it up tonight. It has a disc brake petal, 10 bolt, and air, with a red interior, the steering wheel says ss but my dads been around these cars since they were first made and he thinks its just a run of the mill v8 coupe

Nice find!

I looked up your VIN and came up with this:

124 - V8 powered

37 - Coupe

Nor- Norwood, Ohio assembly plant.

The only bad thing is you really can't find out what motor was originally in your car. Due to GM not putting a classification in the VIN tag until the 1972 model year.
