I've seen alot of twisted driveshafts, but I've never seen a tailhousing break off like that!

That's where a drive shaft loop becomes invaluable.

A little JB Weld and that will be as good as new!!
Actually.. that is pretty crazy.. you would think there would be weaker places for a break to happen.. must of been cracked to begin with or something..
As said, glad it didn't go worse for you (pole vault) :willy:

Will an H-pipe/X-pipe exhaust function as a driveshaft loop in this case? I've wondered about this since I didn't make a provision for a loop...

Placed correctly, it will work as a shelf for the driveshaft to land on. In reality, no, it won't be effective as a loop. The loop also keeps the shaft from getting up into the floorpan as well.

yea definatly get the drive loop, after it broke it tore the exhaust off the right side of the car. my puka was puckerd to the nth degree, what a horrible noise, i thought for sure i was going to loose a leg or something, the drive shaft was flopping around like a fish outa water

Not from any of the islands, but I lived on Oahu, Kauai, and the big island for about five years. When I was on Oahu I lived in Niu valley and Hawaii Kai.
I miss the place, I need to plan a trip back!
